Fire Dennis Allen Billboard (2 Viewers)

And I never said otherwise. I swear that sometimes people on this board refuse to read things in context.

And I swear that this board now has a new purity test. If you don't try to prove that you have the most over the top hatred for DA in every single post, you must be a DA supporter and called deaf, dumb, and blind.
Indeed. I want DA gone, but I don't hate him or anyone else in the organization. I tend to think the late season success was as much the players taking the lead as it was anything Allen did.

I think the roster is better than most are giving credit for and a strong leader at HC would put this team as is in the top 5.

Look at what Amy Trask said about him. He's just not a leader people. Face the facts YO. You can't downgrade from Sean Payton to Dennis Allen and think everything will be hunky dory.

Honestly, I think this roster is a 10 win roster that can win 11 and maybe win a playoff game or two with good coaching. DA's results this year are really in the margin of error, but the way they played to get there was not good enough. They were lucky to get to 9 wins and a lot of that was due to a very soft schedule.
That's a reasonable take. I think a good coach can get them to 12-13 wins, which is where the leaders are currently at, but it's a parity driven league now, so 10-11 wins is probably more realistic.

Right, I'm fully aware that it theoretically COULD happen, but it's going to take more than a 7-10 season followed by a 9-8 season to do that.

Believe it or not, there are some fans out there who don't allow the Saints not making the playoffs to dictate their lives. Some attend games as a result of family traditions, the socialization aspects, etc.

Oh, I agree. I'm just saying that DA isn't getting fired this year but IF fans choose not to buy season tickets it would increase the heat on DA for next year. Some fans will buy because of family traditions and socializing, but that has always been the case before they got good and it was never enough to fill the stadium much less sell out season tickets. I mean I remember as a kid that Time Saver or Winn Dixie would have to buy the rest of the tickets for some games to avoid a blackout locally. And sometimes there were too many tickets available for even that to happen.

Although, I can't believe that even Loomis would keep him if he fails to make the playoffs next year. So, it's probably a moot point anyway.

Your father stopped being correct after 2005.

With Saints season tickets having to be purchased in advanced, subject to a waiting list (which I assume still exists, but is far less what it once was?)........there can be 5 people in the stands and the team will have made whatever it wanted to make in ticket sales. Concessions would obviously suffer, but still.
Ah yes, the great 2006 surge. You and I both know that it's over. I'm sure the waiting list has dwindled. Even the folks who bought tickets with the sole purpose of reselling has taken a hit.
If the Saints keep this act up, you're going to hear those talks again on if the Saints should relocate, etc.

Yeah, I think with very good coaching they could get to 12 or 13 with the schedule they had this year. But, I think next year, if we keep Lattimore and AK, it's a 10 or 11 win team based on talent, but a 8 or 9 win team when you add in the bad coaching. But, if DA doesn't let the locker room fall apart, and he probably will, a good OC could get them to 10 wins.

I think the first 4-6 games next season will tell a lot. I'm just think there's a vacuum of leadership from Allen. He's simply not a good leader and why I think he's better suited as a coordinator operating in the background. Nothing against him, just being a HC is a different skill set than what he has.

I don't hate DA, I've never met him. He may be a good person, family man, etc.....but I think he has proven that he is not a competent NFL HC, I guess maybe like Ditka he has to go 3-14 or 4-13 to really prove it?

Wouldn't surprise me at all if that happens next year.....if he is back and that looks probable....

Also, with the fan attendance, IMO it's not so much the money but the terrible look for the NFL when a great fanbase like the Saints have, stop going to games.....that will get Gayle's attention IMO.....

Next year we play Mahomes, Dak, Hurts, Herbert, Watson along with the QBs we lost to this year in Stafford, Mayfield, Ridder and Love.

This is going to take care of itself next season. No more American Athletic Conference schedule.

Totally agree. This is a team that needs great player leadership because DA isn't going to provide that. Problem is that I don't think Derek Carr is that guy either. Or, at least he didn't act like that guy this year. I honestly think if this team still had Brees, they could win with DA as HC because Brees would basically handle all the leadership and run the offense with Pete.

But, that is not the case and as it is, DA lacks the qualities a HC needs and I don't see enough leadership, at least on the offensive side of the ball, to make up for DA's issues. I think Cam and Demario have done a good job of getting the defense to play for each other, but there is nobody that can do that on the offense right now. AK's a good guy, but he's not really the leader type and I'm not sure he is a fan of DA.
