Article Florio calls out NFL for not fixing the problem that Saints fans know all-too-well (1 Viewer)

I think it truly affected every Saints fan. It doesn't hurt the same anymore. I guess that's not a bad thing given the current Saints situation.

I keep going back to the DB. He KNOWS he forked up. Dude looks around for 10 seconds before celebrating. It brings back ugly feelings, mane!!!
If the Saints hadn’t won a championship before, I’d agree.

We are all aware of that. The real problem lies within the fact that The NFL is labeled as entertainment. Therefore, outcomes can be predetermined and there is nothing that consumers can do about it from a legal standpoint. We just have to take it up the you know what bc we are too invested to walk away. Expectations for the NFL being a good product as a whole (for me) is gone with that no call.
Begs the question, When did professional football go from being a sport to being entertainment? Was this the play where the NFL decided to make it clear that football is only for your viewing pleasure or displeasure? Player and coaches' efforts and preparation be damned?
Football was ALOT more entertaining when it was a sport.

That scumbag actually bragged about it on an interview! Nickell Robey-Coleman should not only have been penalized; he should have been ejected for a personal foul of hitting a defenseless receiver and fined heavily. What a stinking piece of excrement!

A former colleague was in the process of designing something and he was told by people that wanted to pick it up, that he needed to make a certain part on the design cheaper, so that it breaks and people have to get that part or purchase a new one.
Yep. Planned obsolescence. Affects most commercially made products made today. They really “don’t make them like they used to.” Sucks to be a consumer these days.

One of the saddest outcomes of the NOLA No-call was the cynicism it exacerbated and the apathy it engendered within the Saints fan base. Saints football has never been the same for many of us.

I was at that game, and it took something out of me that I can’t put my finger on. I felt so empty, angry (I threw stuff on the field), helpless, etc., and literally cried. I saw grown men all around me with tears in their eyes.

It still burns my biscuits and probably always will.

This situation is part of the reason I want Gruden. Becaue if you piss Gruden off wirh bad calls going forward, you never know what he’ll say about Goodell and the shield. Lol.

With that said, I’m starting to come around with just revamping our O With young coaches. We’ll still have a void in the leadership accountability dept. But maybe if DA is able to dedicate himself to the D because the O will be on someone else, then maybe our d improves. Joe Brady went 7-1 scoring at least 27 points per game since taking over as OC of the Bills. So maybe it’s as simple as adding an OC.

Same. I'm not the same fan I was before that play.
Same. I havent watched a Super Bowl since. I cant even name all the players on the Saints. No longer recognize 75% of the player’s being drafted. Closed out all my sports gambling accounts. Havent played fantasy since. Haven’t been back to a game, cancelled Sunday Ticket. Miss sbout a third of Saints games instead of watching each one multiple times. Honestly, its kind of refreshing. My mood no longer depends on the outcome of a bunch of millionaires playing a game.

Maybe it would have been different if it wasnt for the bounty gate stuff but the 1-2 combo and Saints ownership accepting the outcome to not rock the boat was enough for me to become a casual observer.

Yup. I’m close to this. I still have my tickets and I still follow the Saints closely, but I have a LOT more time available to me on Sundays, Monday nights and Thursday nights. I rarely even watch playoff games or even the Super Bowl.,,and I hadn’t missed a single one before that Rams-Patriots game,

Screw the NFL.

Part of me died that day.

I still root for my Saints. But it's been different since that day. Part of me doesn't care anymore.
💯

Before that play I was all in. I never missed a game or a play. I wouldn’t just watch Saints games, but I would watch any NFL football game that was on (even those Jags vs Titans Thursday Night snoozers).

Now, if I miss a Saints game it’s no biggie. If I go a week without watching a pro football game, oh well.

Now that the Saints have a Super Bowl I approach every new season with more apathy towards the league, and I find myself favoring college football more.

Heck, if anything changed for me it’s that I now spend more time with my family. So in a way, thanks NOLA NO CALL, you have given me part of my life back (and saved me money as well).
