For anyone who says Carr is just a stat padder and don’t win: (39 Viewers)

A career winning percentage below .500 is not what I would call above average, In fact it’s slightly below average. Add in to it his sideline demeanor / decision making and I wouldn’t say we ever have a chance to hit the post season with him. And if that’s the case, then we need to move on, and fast.

I mean if it were QB against QB this would make some sense.....but entire teams actually play the games....just a PSA here.....

I would 100% agree with you and argue the same but we have seen him perform around a ton of coaches and different teams and their makeup, too far along to argue that in my estimation, he’s not exactly pulling a baker or darnold I don’t think

Baker and Darnold both looked pedestrian and way worse than Carr when they played for their first THREE teams.

It's almost like the coach they play for and the players around them matter or something.

yea but let’s talk about that, how old are those guys, how old is Carr?

Darnold is only 27, but Baker will be 30 before the next season starts.

No one here is saying Carr is the future, we all acknowledge he's a bridge QB, but he's better than anything available and cheap than what Darnold and Baker's next contracts will be.

Let’s move on from Carr and start Rattler next season. That way, we can exacerbate the cap situation, waste a roster spot, and watch Rattler struggle thereby losing confidence. 0-17 probably cements the 2026 top draft pick.

To be clear and sarcasm free, we can’t move on from Carr next year due to cap issues, which have been elucidated ad infinitum. Rattler is quite clearly not ready IMHO. Consensus tells us that the QBs in this draft class are not very good. Do we want to reach for one? Let’s not replicate the Davenport reach.

Sorry, I can’t see the compelling need to move on from Carr. Yet. We don’t have a good alternative, and the team has multiple needs more critical than replacing the QB in my view.

An elite offensive minded coach can make a playoff run with Carr. Similar to how Andy Reid kept making the playoffs with Alex Smith, but I think Carr can make bigger plays than Alex Smith giving Carr a better chance to make a deep playoff run in that scenario. He’s not perfect, but I’d take him over more than half of the league starting QB’s. I’m just not sure the Saints are going to be able to get much out of Carr given the coach and talent of the team.
I can go w/almost everything you say, EXCEPT your take on Alex Smith.
He was playing at a Pro Bowl level in SF,until he got hurt & Kapernick stepped up. He was playing at an MVP level in KC, until he got hurt & we know what Mahommes has done. He was playing great in WASH until he had another horrific injury. Injuries always took him out, If you look at his injuries they were the fault of his OL & bad luck. His play was always underrated.
Carr has played for way too many head coach/OC to ever get it right. Just here 2 HC( 1 fired & 1 interim) & 2 OC(1 fired & 1 working w/a practice squad team for most of the season). He's also never had even a decent D. That was the thing that he/we thought woud finally change for him last year. How did the D play last year? How about this year? He's always given it his all & the fans her are blaming him for all of the problems of the last 4 years that have come home to roost. Next year he is still the best option, but he'll have another new HC/OC.

I don't think one can honestly say he has ever had the quality of personnel that both Baker or Darnold enjoy right now and I would be just fine if 2025 was the last year he was our starter....

Derek Carr, 11 years in the league, 77-92 win/loss record, 1 playoff appearance which was a loss. Sorry, not the answer. Saints need to move on.

Nobodies saying he is the future, but he is our best option right now for next year, maybe that changes? But doubtful.....

Quarterbacks do not possess win-loss records

Not your favorite, not your rival’s favorite, not the guy you want to keep or get rid of.

None of them.
