For anyone who says Carr is just a stat padder and don’t win: (4 Viewers)

There’s obviously a lot of impact on wins and losses by the QB as they have more impact than any other position on the field, but I do agree it still is a team game and not solely on the QB.

Digging deeper into that Eagles game. It was at home. We scored only 12 points. We had pretty much our entire roster (or key players) healthy for that game. Our defense played great. Carr threw for 142 yards. Which I believe may have been our lowest output of the year, had 1 touchdown, 1 interception, and a QB Rating of 69.1 in that game. Our defense held an excellent Eagles team to 15 points and Carr couldn’t help lead us to a win. That’s not good enough.
But…. All that said Carr scored the go ahead TD on a decent drive with minimal time remaining. The defense failed to hold and got completely sauced on a blown coverage letting the Philly TE bust loose (at a point where their WR’s were knocked out of the game and we knew the TE was the only reliable weapon in the game).

Carr didn’t play great that day but he put us in position to win that game …. the defense failed in that moment.

Carr having one decent drive after the Saints defense put up 3.5 great quarters of play doesn’t really equal out. Just because Carr “gave us a chance” to win after the defense held the Eagles to 8 points (at the time), doesn’t mean we forget about Carr’s subpar play for the other 3.5 quarters. His play put us in a position to have such tight margins to work with where the defense needed a near perfect game to allow Carr to “have a chance” while he was doing nothing for most of the game.

The Dennis Defenders are now the Derek Defenders.

Defending the below average, one investment at a time.

I guess I'm an outlier, an anomaly......

I wanted DA fired after the 1st disaster of a season.....BUT, on the other hand I think Carr was the best option (as a "bridge" QB for a few years until we draft or find one) at the time......

I still think he is far from the biggest problem with the team.....and would be fine with him starting next year but we will see what happens....

When will people stop this RIDICULOUS practice of assigning the winning or losing of a game only to the QB? It' the most totally inaccurate way of thinking in sports. the QB does NOT play defense. If the offense is 60/40 split passing and running the QB is HANDING the ball off 40% of the time
C'mon man you're smarter than that
The QB will get all the credit for winning & sharing blame in a loss.
Brady thanks them.

Sound like a home team baseball stats guy.... looking for anything to make the player or team appear good..... although 14-13 is not a stat I would be posting.....
Stafford took longer to get to a SB than Carr has had a career and their numbers were strikingly similar until he went to the Rams and won a SB.

I'm not saying Carr will do the same, but Carr hasn't played on a very good to great team yet. If he had the weapons of say KC or Buffalo, he'd have top 5 numbers.

That said, without a top 10 defense, Carr isn't gonna win much more than half his games. He's not a QB that can carry a team like the Mahomes and Allen's of the world, but he can do what guys like Eli Manning and similar QBs do.

He's an above average qb who has most played on below average teams like Stafford did for many years.

Why don't you do your own research and see what the Raiders defense was ranked in each year he was there. I can tell you this, they were never ranked higher than about 22nd in the league and in a few seasons they were 30-32nd. It's a team game.
What was the Saints defense rated during most of Brees career? I believe we had the worst defense in the history of the league but were still competitive.

Yeah, having a HOF qb helps. You won't see those kinds of results with anything less.

He's not the best option we have forever. He's the best option for 2025.
2025 should be a rebuilding year. With him as the best option, we are basically a .500 team if things fall right. We should be looking to the future and that future should not be with Carr IMO. He is an average to slightly above average QB, but we are not a team that will be winning anything the next couple of years while we should be rebuilding.
