Imola F1 race called off as floods devastate region

Formula One and local organisers called off the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on Wednesday as torrential rain and flooding caused devastation across the northern Italian region.

LEC out in Q1. Last year’s pole sitter. And purely on speed, not a wreck or failure.
 
Have we reached the point to where the remaining races are for P2?

7 races, 7wins for Red Bull. Catalunya is a very fast track and Max has a 1/2 second on the field through qualifying. Unless he breaks or has a brain fart, this race could be over before DRS is enabled.
 
Watched the end of the race. Mercedes finally put together a decent race, yet Max still finished well over 20 seconds ahead of P2. Truly is Max and everyone else in F1.

And, I didn't realize NetZero is still a thing, lol.

I think it’s been that way for a while - Red Bull are way too fast.

But second and third are really interesting. Looks like Merc are putting their stamp on second - they look stronger and more consistent than anyone else.

They're a second faster than most of the field on the track and in the pits!!! I swear they are running all of their assets on Red Bull.
 
Canada was pretty interesting. Max cruised to the win but it looks like upgrades at Aston and Merc have made those cars faster. Perhaps one may find a way to contend with the Red Bull for a win - but also that second place battle is still really interesting.

Have to favor Mercedes simply because Lance Stroll is a weak link. Lewis/Russell are much better than Alonso/Stroll. Given how fast Alonso has been, any other team would be looking to replace Stroll. Is Lawrence simply going to leave Lance in the car? Probably. Maybe he can buy a seat at one of the bottom teams and move Lance over so that he can fill the AM #2 with someone better.

Yeah, I've found it hard to get hype about F1 this season, but the P2 and P3 finishers have been somewhat interesting. The races have been pretty boring with a few exceptions. I mean, IndyCars and Nascar both have been far more intriguing imo.

There are rumors that Max might want to do something else, but he's getting $$$ from F1 so I don't see him giving that up anytime soon.
