I think Max wants to be the greatest F1 driver of all time - that seems pretty obvious. Walking away with three championships isn't going to keep him in that discussion.
 
With their season on the brink, McLaren bring a major upgrade package to Austria. Early signs look promising - Lando sits 4th on the grid for the sprint tomorrow.

So it looks like McLaren's upgrades are working - after a great run from Norris last week, they added the upgrades to Piastri's car and they will start 2, 3 tomorrow at Silverstone. And all of a sudden, Aston Martin look like mid-pack. Checo fails Q3 again (five in a row).
 
Budapest this weekend - with the trial tire rule for qualifying (all cars on hard in Q1, medium in Q2, and soft in Q3).

Much different circuit than last time out in Britain, lots of slow turns and big acceleration points off the corners - downforce essential but can’t be too draggy. Suits Ferrari perhaps better than Mercedes.

The championship is done but the second place battle in drivers and constructors is really good. If McLaren are able to be on the podium in Hungary as well, they might be the favorite - after being such junk at the start.

Pretty good excitement in qualifying - and somehow Russell finishes 18th while Lewis takes pole! Amazing drive from Lewis.

Meanwhile the McLarens take the second row, with the upgraded car looking really fast here too.

Fully expect Max to win, but Lewis winning here would be really nice.

I think Lando and Checo are fast too. LeClerc as well if he manages to put a race together. Should be a good race, Max might be challenged and even if he isn’t, the second place race is on
 
Lando and the McLaren team are starting an impressive second half of the season.

That was funny. They should just give Max the Championship at the beginning of next season and have a whole other ranking for everyone not Max. Based on where Max is in his young career so far, he is already on a pace to obliterate Lewis Hamilton's record.
