GAMEDAY THREAD -- Saints @ Falcons 9/29/24 (6 Viewers)

I truly don’t understand what happens to em at the end of the game. They’re a great defense and I’m proud of em, but anyone who argues that they don’t fold like cheap chairs at the end of games is 💯 certifiably insane, or mentally challenged. Simple facts back it up. Over years, not just a very small sample size.

So I am certifiable insane or mentally challenge.

Over the years matters not. What matters is the now. And the now, the Saints defense has allowed 1 TD, 6 FGs, and created 5 turnovers in 8 quarters of football.

What has the offense done?

Well the buck stops with the HC. In His 3rd year we keep making bad plays and dumb calls to lose games.

What is the definition of insanity?
in*san*i*ty

1. the absolute ridiculous belief that the Saints are not cursed; and that their defense won't give up a deep DPI when the game is on the line' especially on 3rd down, when the Saints miraculously have the lead.

2. the continued belief that the Saints will have anything consistently break their way, that they won't give you an intense false sense of hope only to violently snatch the rug out from underneath your feet.

I agree with you but sadly it doesn’t change the fact that the defense always fails in this spot. Always. I wish I could understand it as they’re a great unit and I’m proud of em.

They don't always fail in that spot. They have won games in the same situation. But, it's the NFL teams score in those situations all the time. At the end of a game when defenses are worn out getting into FG range when playing hurry up is easy money. Especially when NFL kicker regularly hit from 55 plus these days. And most times, most teams even score TDs.

But the overall point is that if not for two dumb plays, you have a 15 point lead at the end of the game and a FG or a TD make no difference. Simply put, when you hold a team to 12 points you should win 90 plus percent of those games. And it doesn't matter when the points come.

Got them the lead with 1 minute left in the game. Just like they got the the lead with less than 2 minutes left in the game with adversity last week.

You are neither lol. I agree with you that it’s the offenses fault. I also agree that outside of end of game situations the defense is lights out.

I don’t understand how you fail to see what’s been shown over years. Years. I also don’t see how that matters not to you.

To each their own tho.
Still proud of em.

Three things can be true at once:

You can be certifiably insane or mentally challenged.
The defense could have played lights out for 3 14/15 quarters.
The defense could have given up a last minute lead by not getting a stop when needed.

I don’t think the head coach was calling running plays to the right and tosses to the short side of the field all game but ok let’s blame DA because the offense struggled again.

So the HC never gets the blame? Ahhh thanks Mr. Loomis.

So the ineptitude of the offense don't count. The defense is not perfect, it's their fault.

It counts and it’s their fault. The boss has to fix the problem because it’s easier to replace the boss than 1/2 the roster.

He already remade the coaching staff.
