I don't trust Loomis. We were inches away from getting Watson... we kept DA two seasons too long.... We were gonna let the flooded house mold over before gutting the walls(firing DA)...

Using Loomis as the defense to Loomis isn't gonna work.

We were not inches away from getting Watson, he was closer to going to ATL than us. Granted we were too close, but more than half this board were onboard with trading for Watson

It can feel different very easily. All it would take is for Rizzi to gather his troops in the newly organized locker room and say. Something like, "hey all, i dont give a EFF about what happened before, this is MY MOFO TEAM NOW, NOW WHOS WITH ME? At first they may say, what whos this freaking guy?. But if they are competitors at heart they'll want to believe him. Rizzi could follow with something like, "ILL TELL YOU WHO THIS FREAKING GUY IS, THE GUY THATS GOING TO TURN THIS MOFO AROUND, IS WHO, I SAID, NOW WHOS WITH ME!! A true competitor would say, I love this guy, now lets effing go. Boom culture changed.

Dunno if that’s what happened but have to admit your ad lib kinda got me fired up! From all the reports recently it seems it has the team fired up too. We’ll see how it translates on Sunday but I’m hopeful.

Thanks man, I actually deleted a longer version. You do have to play along and put yourself there. But i believe it’s that simple to turn it around the lockeroom mentality and get the guys thinking your way. Of course Rizzi would have to BE that person and follow up meticulously with each player 24/7. Rizzi says he wants to be a HC, so let’s see.

As a motivator, I think that Rizzi would be great and I think he has what you need in the attention to detail. My concerns with him are that he's never been an OC or DC and how much does he know about that side of the ball?
I think that with Rizzi as HC he will need a very good strong OC AND DC to be successful. Also we don't know what kind of talent evaluator he is

Don't think Mickey survives in the offseason. You can tell this is the first time ownership and him aren't in lockstep. His weird behavior, he's not taking this situation very well since ownership bypassed him and fired Allen. His lash out over a Jeff Duncan article he wrote this passed January about players parking in the wrong spots, hinting at a lack of attention to detail. Just comes off as someone lashing out, the non-stop defending Allen to the end is also very tone deaf and wierd.

Sean Fazende of Fox 8 on his podcast said that they were stopped at where the cafeteria construction was ongoing at the facility where 12 reporters got word Mickey was going to talk to them either on or off the record and didn't show up as if he cancelled it.

Good point. Talent evaluation is key. After watching hard knocks during the Giants offseason, it was pretty much confirmed what we already knew. The coaches have sway on FO moves. That’s why the scouting department should go with the coach

A prediction is taking into consideration past performance just like oddsmaking. Our 1st 2 games when healthy say that the odds were we'd have a much better record than we have.
LOL , Of course no team stays fully healthy but you can't compare even relatively healthy to what we experienced. We were DECIMATED. Position groups were wiped out and we had 3rd and 4th string players starting. We were picking up players off the street and they were starting
In the Philly game we lost out starting C , Detillier wrote an article saying that when a team loses it's C in game they lose 70% of the time

Sorry but we were not as healthy as any other team in game 4 and 5
The reason we don;t have quality depth is not mostly due the how we handle the cap , it's because we have not have handled the draft well

You do realize that Philly lost their starting center in the same game we did and Atlanta's starting center was out as well in game 4? You will have to find a new boogeyman.

I’m actually surprised at the complete denial of facts from a couple posters here. From the reports of what happened to the actual way it happened nothing tells you Mickey had the slightest say so in this decision. I’m personally glad for that because most of what I had heard was Gayle not having much actual power when it came to football decisions. If this is true, I honestly have a lot more faith in them righting the ship. I have zero faith in Loomis though.

I agree that those are his potential faults. Lots of questions. However, at least Rizzi has relationships with the entire team. And it kinda makes sense to have an emotionally super charged special teams coach as a head coach candidate. I kinda like that the coach isn’t slanted to one side of the ball. So when someone steals his OC and or Dc, he’ll just plug one in. Because ultimately the team is playing for Rizzi. So it’ll be interesting to see.

Don’t forget that the players know he is an “interim” head coach. No matter how good he might be at motivation some of the veteran players might be looking at him as just the coach for “right now “. That said, some might just have checked out for the season and the priority might be to just not get hurt.

Saying we would be 7-2 instead of 2-7 is meaningless. Nobody can prove it right or wrong but its just pointless to say.

Lets talk about reality here. NO NFL TEAM STAYS FULLY HEALTHY. You cant just say oh if we stayed healthy then we would be this...........every team in the NFL can paint the same hypothetical theory.

Also reality is that we were about as healthy of a team that is necessary over the first 5 games and were 2-3. We were missing a few people but nothing that should have turned us from this 7-2 team as you say to 2-3.

This is an average football team at best but we are paying for almost 2 whole rosters. If any team could absorb as many injuries as we have had it should be us since Mickey Loomis was basically paying for two whole rosters. What are we paying for if it cant even include depth?

Yup, ridiculous statement in an attempt to gaslight Saints fans who know better, we had 2 prior years of evidence that DA didn't have the ability to win close games or against teams that were playoff level....this year the wheels fall off, we have injuries, granted.....but we lose to close games we should have won and suddenly we could have been 7-2 instead of 2-7? I'm not.....some of these same posters have been in denial for a few years now regarding DA, and some inexplicably defended Loomis after that clown show PC last year......

And some of the so-called experts on this board seemed to think 2 games equal a season....I also want Loomis out of the decision making process....
