Georgia Tech’s Justin Thomas has successful tryout with Saints (2 Viewers)

He would be good in Brandon Cooks old job, stretch the field, smart guy with speed , so I hope we put him at WR not CB. 5'9" makes him about cooks size also.

QB's are usually very smart, tenacious, big and strong, and have good judgment. If they have the wheels, they can play almost anywhere.

Oops! Just saw the film, and read he was only 5'9. Would make an OK WR and return man, like Robey.

He's not a QB. He was GT's QB because he was the most athletic guy on their roster. Reading about his pro day, he showed some utility ability. Reportedly ran an a 4.32 40. Interesting conversion prospect. It's a shame how many stellar athletes that have the talent to play in the league have their development stunted by learning to play a position or in a system they have no business at. I hate the nonsense option philosophy GT swears by.

That nonsense philosophy sure gets players wide open and allows GT to play with teams they shouldn't be able to hang with.

It works for them. The players have a choice on where they go.

Would be insane if he could turn into our version of Tyreek Hill.

Pretty much identical size/speed as Tyreek Hill.

So GT got him because they promised him he would play qb, meanwhile a guy who actually knows how to utilize talent wanted to move him to db. Well tht certainly didn't end as he expected it.

Dont be so sure, he wanted to play QB and he played QB.

Man, I missed this guy when going through the list of tryout players earlier. I think I instead looked at Justin Thomas, the corner from Utah. This one is a heck of an athlete.

No one thought he was a QB coming out of HS, unless you were an option team, he was going to be a DB anywhere else. Sabah also tried to make Kamara a DB, so he left for UT. Worked out well for him

GT has been a decent football program for a while. Saying that they're clearly outmatched in the ACC in terms of the talent they can recruit is faulty. The university is in a top 5-6 state in terms of high school football talent and is one of only 2 power 5 programs within that state. The flex bone has no business in modern day football. If it did, actual championship caliber football teams at the collegiate/professional level would utilize it, which they don't.

Navy beat some much more talented teams with it...

Maybe... I'm not so sure the talent at Navy wasn't up to par with all the teams they beat. Saying what a team does with a certain system and ignoring what they might would do with a more common system seems unproveable and 100% opinion. What is factual is that a team hasn't won a National Championship nor a Super Bowl with that system almost literally since Nam..

I get the love. It's throwback, nostalgic football. I've debated this with my brother (a HS football coach and flexbone purist) more times than I can count. It's just not relevant anymore in big boy football, and it hurts the development of talented athletes IMO

Id like to see what he could do as a rb/wr/kr... leave no stone unturned until we find or next sproles.
