Ginsberg with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan (4 Viewers)

This is Ginsberg:

"I saw the best coaches and players of my generation destroyed by Goodell,
fined, suspended, disgraced, dragging their names through the mud at dawn
looking for a phantom fix."

It seems like Ginsberg has made several statements about reputations, dragging their names thru the mud, etc. All of this could be prep for a court case based on defamation. Its going to be tough the get to court based on the punishment issued since I fear its all covered by different articles in the CBA. But defamation is not a CBA issue, and may be the only way any of the supposed evidence against any of the Saints player and/or coaches could ever be in public view. In court the league would have to prove that the public accusations they've made are fact-based. If the evidence doesn't show that...

I want him fired for incompetence.

I have high hopes for this season, in spite of everything. We are living in the gilded age of this franchise, and for Goodell to come along and sanction this team to the degree where it compromises its ability to compete - that's atrocious. I will never get over this. ever.

He's thrown our team against the whipping post, while all the other teams are breathing a collective sigh of relief that they weren't the name picked out of a proverbial hat.

The only thing that would satisfy me is for Goodell to be fired or resign in disgrace, full reinstatement of Payton, Vitt, and Loomis, an additional 1st round pick next year, and a public apology from the goon that replaces Jolly Roger.

To other fans, these terms might sound ridiculous, but if the NFL really wanted a sacrificial lamb, they should have used GW and left it at that. He has a history of questionable rhetoric that spans multiple teams. But no. They had to scorch and salt the freakin' black and gold earth.

This entire process has passed from being misguided to being completely malicious - toward this team, its fans, and, indeed, the entire city of New Orleans.

Great post! I agree. Even with the slimming chance that this might be true, the punishment do not fit the crime. I am more mad at the fact that Goodell thought the organization and the fans were just going to take this with laying down with no evidence. Talk about an ego.

I'm really glad this is finally getting legs- Vilma needs his side out there, and it helps that his side also helps the coaches/teams/fans reputation as well. I've taken a lot of flack on other message boards for being a Saints fan, for not buying what the commish is selling. We need the truth out there.

I hope they find us innocent and the commish gets canned, that'd make me very happy... I miss Tags

Remember when Michael essentially told Tom Hagan that you can get away with murder if the media is in your pocket?

It's going to be a quiet, lonely uphill battle against the powerhouse of Goodell, ESPN, and the rest of the world that thinks we're crazy

Now knowing JV might be reading this thread I just want to say keep your head up man and keep fighting.
We support you till the end and will forever be grateful to you for your contributions to our beloved Saints.
