Gonna need to bring it against the Rams! (1 Viewer)

Mainly because the current NFC South is still bad enough overall that a playoff run is still possible, even with a seven-game losing streak and coaching change.
It only looks that way because the Saints won two straight and the falcons/Bucs just went through the toughest stretch of their schedule. Once we lose to the Rams and the Bucs continue to win their next two or 3 itll be over.

We’re not losing to the Rams.

They’re not good right now. Their rush D is bad which plays into how we want to play.

Not sure how the rest of the schedule plays out, since so much else involves moving parts. But we’ll win this one unless we turn it over a bunch.

What are yall talking about? The Packers, Commanders, and Bucs are all more difficult matchups than the Rams. What planet are we living on?

Disagree, the Commanders just lost to the Cowboys (and does that make 2 or 3 consecutive losses?), the Bucs best WR's are hurt......

The Rams strength is their WR's, our weakness right now is our secondary (IMO), unless the pass rush suddenly improves it's going to be a long day for our D IMO....

So by your estimate, Falcons should’ve boat raced us, since we were on a 7 game losing streak?✅
Commanders blamed their losing streak on JD5 not being able to practice during the weeks leading up to games. That’s false. They were playing ultra conservative. Which we have all seen how an offense performs when you play scared. As the season goes on, they will get more aggressive vying for playoff seeding.

Bucs is a divisional game. Mike Evans is back. Not sure how you think their best WR is hurt? Their other WRs knows their roles and they execute how they are supposed to. Baker is keeping that team together by guts and brawn. Along with some of their defensive players, knowing exactly how we play…….Dean/Winfield/David/Vea. They always make big plays against us. Plus, I’m sure their HC will get his head out of his a** and realize that Bucky is the superior RB, and White does nothing but stall the offense.

Going back to your 1st assessment, the only winning team that the Rams have beat was the Vikings. Since having Kupp/Puca back together, they are a .500 ball club, with the 2 wins they squeaked out against The Seahawks in OT and the Patriots.

The Rams are highly flawed. Potential to be dangerous? Sure as any team on any given day………..except for us when we had DA as HC.

IMO, what killed the Saints, and what will continue to kill the Saints are elite young Defensive line trenches. Jalen Carter literally single-handedly wrecked our season. And its taken 8 weeks to put the pieces back together to form a semblance of a team. The RAMS are next, and are similar to the Eagles, defensive front. This is what happens when you have draft success. Had we not had to burn multiple first round picks on Davenport and Turner, maybe we'd have a young strong interior Dline. Instead, we have just Bresse to show for it. Bink and Shepard are JAGS. Chase Young could possibly turn out great. We need Tano back. The Rams roster / team are a tick better than us on paper and coaching. And the Eagles are 2 ticks better than the Saints on paper. IOW, we should be 6 point dogs at home vs the Rams. Im not meaning to sound negative. But we should all be aware that we are clearly worse than the Rams, roster-wise. So if Rizzi can pull this win out, then we should strongly consider him going forward. For the record: The Saints starting front four: Cam/Grand/Shep/Bink : ave age: 30.25

RAMS:

As of October 31, 2024, the average age of the Los Angeles Rams defensive line was 24.5 years old. The Rams' defensive line includes Jared Verse, Turner, Fiske, and Young, who all rank in the top 50 for pressures. Only the Seattle Seahawks have more players in the top 50,
Does Jalen Carter wreck Eric McCoy? That was also the game where Ruiz was injured. The Saints definitely need to get better at DT, but the OL is a Guard and continued growth from Penning away from being top 10 in my opinion.

Jalen Carter wrecked McCoy, yes. And Ruiz. He singlehandedly wrecked the team. That’s why the great teams have elite young Dts. You ever see Carter play? He’s like trying to contain an elephant with kittens. Jared Verse pancaked a quality eagles LT last game. We have Bresee but we don’t have that young monster that wrecks double teams with the bull rush.

I think it's important to remember that defenses are adjusting to JD and he's a rookie and the Commanders are (despite their early success) really rebuilding, and while I'm actually for the 1st time (when I lived in the DMV I couldn't stand the team) pulling for them because of JD, I think they lose more than they win going forward, I could be wrong, we'll see.....

As for the Bucs, I mistakenly thought Evans was on IR, it's actually Godwin, and he is a key for them as well.....and they have lost 4 or their last 5 games, so I'm not sure why you think they are less beatable than the Rams.....

I think, right now, we match up better against the Bucs and Commanders (than we do the Rams).....we will see what happens....

Carter is a stud but come on, McCoy played THREE snaps in that game.

In terms of most pivotal, then yes I would agree with that. In terms of degree of difficulty, then no

As for degree of difficulty I agree that the Commanders are going to give us fits we are going to have to contain a mobile QB and historically the redskins/football team/commanders have given us fits no matter the name. All that said going into that game fighting to get to .500 after everything we went thru I think we come to play. That game and the Packer game are the roughest of the remainder. Oddly, I like us matching up with GB even if it’s snowing the Commanders are going to be the toughest ask but at least we have them at home.

Why it quoted u twice I don’t know.

Really? The Saints ran the ball right down the field on the first drive and then McCoy got hurt and left the game without returning. How did Carter wreck McCoy again?

The Rizzler is going to have to take a monumental, toilet clogging/destroying, DUMP the morning of this game for the Saints to have even a chance of winning!
