Really happy we got this deal done, him and Ruiz were our 2 biggest free agents going into 2024 and now both are under contract for 4 more years. Every other free agents are depth pieces or Shaheed who is an ERFA so we'll have him for 1 more year cheap.

Yeah from what I read after the season we either offer him a 1 year league minimum contract before the new league year begins or he becomes an UFA. No way we let him hit free agency so we'll 100% do that and he has no choice but to play under that contract or his only other choice is not play football. I think we could also offer a long term contract but not sure exactly how it works; like can we sign him right away to lets say a 4 year contract, or he has to sign the 1 year tender and then we extend for 3 more years... Either way, he'll be here next year.
