Greatest rock band you don't like or care for (1 Viewer)

Led Zepplin
Metallica
Reaching way back...Elvis

well if Elvis is allowed then close the thread b/c that's the only answer by a country mile
- i'd assumed we were talking post-British invasion

for me it's more a genre thing - my hard rock interest peaked with AC/DC - Black Sabbath so when Metallica came along I was done. Similar with grunge - some songs i liked, most bands, nah

but for just one band I'm going with the Rolling Stones (and await the deluge of red thumbs) - i like some of their first stuff ok, but my listening to the Stones stamina is not great at all

With me, I like a lot of bands up until a certain point. Take RHCP for instance. Great band up through Blood Sugar Sex Magic. After that, crap. Metallica. Crap after ....And Justice for All except Death Magnetic was pretty good. I could go on for hours with this.

Probably the Stones. There are a few things here and there, but really not that much to me.

Never have been a fan of U2. I have no idea why, just never seemed to connect with them.

Moved to the music board.

But I really have never cared for U2. Also, I like the Rolling Stones for the first minute of all their songs. After than they just repeat everything for another 6 minutes. I can't stand it.

Rolling Stones would be 2nd on this list for me, sorry but Bono whiny voice whining about god knows what just made it to where I couldn't take listening to that band's music, well I can listen to it long enough for me to know its a U2 song so I can change the channel on the radio

Topping my list is The Who, I could just never get into their stuff....and I've tried. I'm a beer drinker and no matter how many times I've tried wine, I'm still a beer drinker. That's The Who for me.

A distant second would be the Rolling Stones.

I'm glad to see no one is mentioning nickelback and they are getting the respect they deserve
The thread title states "greatest" bands, not blowfests :hihi:

The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Likely due to radio overplaying them to the point of mind-numbing regularity back in the day.

I think that most of the well known, hall of fame acts are that way for a reason. If you spend some time in their catalog, you realize why - but taste does come into it, I suppose. But don't confuse your own taste with lack of objective quality.

I know Metallica is a hall of fame act, and I know a lot of their material. It mostly doesn't do much for me and I never really actively listened to it. But I recognize what they have achieved and I'm not going to talk **** about them.

Other bands have eras that I like and don't care for. People mention U2, I love a handful of their albums. I saw Joshua Tree tour when I was 14 and listened to Achtung Baby constantly for about six months. But I don't ever need to hear anything U2 did after that album. Still, great band.

Damn straight you won't talk trash about Metallica!

Easy for me. Red hot chili peppers. Hour garbage

The Who is a pretty good answer to but I do like eminence front

I thought I knew RHCP pretty well back in high school. Saw them headline a show with Fishbone and Stone Temple Pilots.

I walked away from that show really liking STP and realizing how cool they were, and how I only knew like 2-3 RHCP songs and the rest sorta sucked. Flea is the only saving grace for that band's live show too. Everyone else is pretty boring.

U2 is meh for me, except for The Joshua Tree. That has a lot of sentimental value to it from back in high school.
