Head Coaching Candidates for 2025 (70 Viewers)

Aaron Glenn
He played for us. He’s coached here before. He’s essentially “one of us”. He has knowledge on how to stop a SP type offense and and new age Ben Johnson type offense. Players love him and he has earned a HC position. He was a pretty good player, so that resonates with this new era of players

I want to get away from the Payton era so no Glenn or Brady for me.

I’d prefer an offensive play caller. Ben Johnson is going to be everyone’s #1 pick. I think he’ll pick a spot that already has a franchise QB like Chicago or New England if they open up.

Just because he’s everyone’s #1 doesn’t mean he’s going to be the best. The top guy in Allen’s cycle was Daboll. He was hired quickly and a lot of people around here wanted Pederson or McDaniel. But it’s Kevin O’Connell who has been the best from that cycle.

I could see us snagging a young playcaller from in the division like Liam Coen or Zac Robinson. Or if we’re looking for someone with head coaching experience, Kliff Kingsbury from the Commanders.

It’s gonna be hard to get a good head coaching candidate when we are so hamstrung by our cap. (thanks Loomis)

I think it really depends on what we're doing with Carr. If we're keeping him, Belichick makes sense. He could probably get some good games in with Carr, and the name power might bring in some bigger names via FA. Otherwise, I'd want the Saints to go hard at Ben Johnson. He's doing work with Goof of all QBs, so he could work with Carr and a some top picks. But maybe a #1 pick at QB could also lure him in. I don't want Glenn at all. Gruden may also be a sneaky candidate given the history, especially if we keep Carr. If we're drafting a QB, is there a reality where Sanders is HC for the Saints?

I want Ben Johnson, but my gut is saying Belichick. No real rational reasoning as to why, just is.

I sure wish he was an offensive minded coach 🙁.

Id love for him to be HC

Bill would make a lot of sense..

1) no one wants to coach Jerry world
2) he's had that year off to enjoy being out, but definitely you know he wants back in
3) he really loved joint practices with our franchise and got along real well with us
