Hot Takes Welcome (Post Falcons Win) (4 Viewers)

Unironically of all the years for the Saints to pull a Saints, this is the one. Odds are high there will be players drafted in the top 5-10 that teams do not feel good about drafting that early. I'd rather see what Rizzi can do as a Head Coach because if he can truly galvanize the team, it would make the Head Coach search MUCH simpler next season. And a good Head Coach is much more important than draft position, especially in a year there are no elite QB prospects.

I say this with all respect - I don’t get the obsession with 1st round draft choices. I understand that you can absolutely find some studs in the draft in any round really, but I would rather this organization make themselves attractive to proven, stud free agents and coaches at every position, and I think you do that by having a respectable season to show that there’s something to work with. Again, I’m not trying to argue.
I think the problem with that though is we have a huge cap problem. We just can’t afford to many high priced stud free agents. High draft picks come at a much cheaper price.

It was a fun win not particularly well-played. They won largely because of the inexplicable missed field goal attempts by Koo. The team had a lot of energy but still made the same mistakes that have been plaguing them since week 3.

Agreed it’s weak at the top this year

I’d feel just fine picking Jeanty or Scourton or Pierce or something at 10.

Fair point and good perspective.

Loomis’ method is known as “kick the can down the road” it really should be “kick his can down the road” because has the franchise as one of the least attractive spots for a potential coach. I hope we don’t have to settle for a tier2 level coach with our horrendous cap situation due to his unofficial tradition of kicking… well you know.

We've been saying all season that someone needed to step up today but who would have thought it would be a player that has only been here for 2 weeks?

MVS stepped up HUGE today and it was badly needed.

I'm still not going to give Ak41 any crap because he catches that ball 99 out of 100 times.

If the Saints had replaced Allen after last season with Rizzi or a coach like him that gets his team to fight when hurt and bad things are happening, they would be in the playoff hunt right now even with all the same injuries.

Good stuff today.

Saints D played much better, and best of all, closed out a game! We were fairly depleted at DB and they held up for the most part. That last flag on Alonte was completely bogus. Cam and Young finally had a few flashes.

On O the line actually had a very solid day. The OL coaching staff shuffle already had an impact. We’re even more depleted at WR and the new guys did enough, and MVS was great. Disappointed in Tipton though. AK was on fire.

More focus and effort overall, got to give credit for that to Rizzi!

Yes still short on talent. Yes still injured. But no longer the mess that was. These guys came to play today.
This one game shows less than the first two games did. This team often gives us false hope. I need more time and more games to believe.

Look, we have to be real about this. The Saints are a bad team. Period. They will likely be bad for the next few years as they rebuild. That’s why this win was so impressive. We were clearly overmatched and found a way to win. BTW, if Koo makes all three fgs AND Kamara makes that catch we still win. No point in hypotheticals.

The Rizzler was the difference. I want to see a few more games before I’m converted, but he might just be it.

The system (and not necessarily the players) was the problem. Makes me angry at the front office for not making the change sooner. This is on them and their penny pinching ways.

Still feel like given how we played we will end the season with a top 10 pick.

I wouldn’t be upset if the next coaching staff didn’t include KK.

DA will have a hard time ever getting a HC job in the NFL. I wouldn’t hire that clown to walk my dog.
Gayle is a lot of things, but penny pincher isn't one of them. If anything, they have a spending money problem. Meaning too much money going into personnel who haven't delivered.
