Hot Takes Welcome (Post Raiders Loss) (4 Viewers)

The Dallas Cowboys under Tom Landry use to play a Defense that was termed "The Flex Defense."
It was a read & react D.

From what I witnessed today we are employing that same technique with our LB's.
We ran a lot of 4-3 today and only on a couple of plays did the LB's attack the line of scrimmage.

This is one of the big reasons RB's are running all over us...

I think we had a total of 3 tackles of 3 yards or less today.

It was incredible sad to see how poorly the team came out in the 2nd half today...

I hope the FO got the message today & all of these veteran players that it has been overpaying are released after the year is over.
They showed they don't care!

That can't be the panacea for the mistakes SR is making. He is making bad decisions when things are there for him. His touch is awful, way too much on the ball a lot of times. Yes he'll make some really good throws but he has overconfidence in his arm a lot. His issues are the same that have been there his whole career and why he lasted till the 5th rd. While he may be able to overcome these issues it will take a very good QB coach or OC to do it.
I’ve been saying for weeks and multiple posts today that if…if….Rattler is the choice going forward - he needs an offensive coordinator that can work with him and build an offense around him.

My hot take is I knew who the Saints were since the Denver game.

My hotter take - I like a good joke now and then, but when I read something like this as a parent with a kid who's "on the spectrum" it cries out as a chance to educate someone with an open heart. I'd be happy to have a discussion about this as a....subject matter expert of 15 years experience. I hear things like this all the time IRL and have had some really great experiences helping people understand what it means. If you DO know what it means, and you posted that I'd humbly ask that you do better and be more aware. When you post/say something like that, all someone who actually has a kid "on the spectrum" sees is their own child that you just offhandedly made fun of, you know?

Bro, just stop right now. There is no winning. You were wrong to use that reference.
I got a 15 yo on the spectrum and the kid’s brilliant

I was at the game today...

Drew Brees never played on a team as bad as this one!

Rattler had 4 passes dropped on each possession to start the 2nd half...
The OL apparently sent out dummy clones & they stayed in the locker room after halftime.
No one blocked in the 2nd half...

Our D can't rush the passer...can't tackle any ball carrier...can't cover any WR, TE, or RB...
Our D is horrendous...

A rookie QB is the least of our problems!
1st he only threw 4 passes in the 1st possession , 1 was dropped by Austin, 2 were caught by JJ, the other pass to JJ it would have had to been a spectacular catch because the ball was WAY too high and hard.

2nd possession, the pass to MVS was not a drop the defender made a great play on the ball. SR had plenty of time to throw had he not had a hitch in his throw and got rid of it quicker it might have been a catch before the defender got there. Next pass and the only other one thrown this possession was almost picked

3rd possession, 1st pass was not for Prentiss it was for MVS , if was for him it was an awful throw way too high and hard. 2nd pass to CEH was a drop
Only 2 passes on this possession so there could not be 4 drops

4th possession , 1st pass to Foster was pretty much in the dirt hardly a drop. 2nd pass complete to Pettis , he also had JJ breaking free wide open.
3rd pass complete to Wilson but got a holding call . 4th pass he had time and threw a pass WAY too high and hard for Wilson to catch and it was tipped and picked. It was an easy pass to complete.

The point is you said you were there, and 4 passes were dropped on EACH of the possessions to start the 2nd half , when on a few possessions he didn't even throw 4 passes so how could 4 passes be dropped when he didn't throw 4 passes? You sure you were at the right game?

I agree, the coaches are not to blame, but the guy who gave them the players they have to put on the field is, and that’s Mickey Loomis. Regarding Rattler’s passes, I agree on that too, but they are catchable for NFL-caliber receivers. Rattler throws a good ball. He definitely needs to work on finesse and touch, but those zingers are catchable. They are not John Elway zingers; they should be caught.
You don't understand how ML works, he's NOT saying " We are picking this player I don't care what the coaches and the scouting dept say" He IS letting the HC and the scouting dept make the decisions and when they can't agree he makes the decision. And I'll bet he sides with the HC
And when a WR is waiting for a NORMAL pass and not a flamethrower one it's an easy catch but not then he has to jump 3 ft in the air to catch heat

I have to disagree, the turn-a-round was in the fans though not in the team. To continue would of only lost more fans this year and possibly longer.
If the fans came back from 1-15 and yrs of bad teams after they would easily have come back from this if we start winning again.
The only thing firing DA early was give Rizzi a look see and make our D worse with Woods calling the shots, and maybe get a head start on finding a new HC

I don't want to give away too much since it's in one of Underhill's articles but it sounds like our practices were pure cupcake at walkthrough pace. The players were clearly not prepared mentally and physically.
You talking about this week?

I’ve been saying for weeks and multiple posts today that if…if….Rattler is the choice going forward - he needs an offensive coordinator that can work with him and build an offense around him.
Rattler had really 11 games and some fill in @ OU where he looked good and had a good team around him. Then he spent 2 yrs at SC behind bad OL but he did have Leggette @ WR. He did not progress much from his Fr yr to his Sr. yr. Can he undo the bad habits he assumed in college ? Who knows

Yeah Nick said it was a weird Christmas schedule. Rizzi is not nor has ever been the answer
Oh ok no this was a pissed off Mathieu basically giving some insight as to why we've been so bad at tackling and have had so many injuries. He said it had gotten better but it was too little too late.

Rizzi isn't but he at least made watching Saints football bearable for the first time in a couple months. And he was never going to get a fair shake with as much as there was to fix.
