Hot Takes Welcome (Post Tampa Bay Loss) (1 Viewer)

Kubiak should be HC next year. Offense has looked bad without hill, ol and 0 wrs, but his scheme will work once we have players.

Offense: You’re down 4 offensive linemen and you lose your best WR in the first drive of the game while simultaneously giving up a turnover for TD on a play that easily could have been called back for a helmet to helmet hit. We can’t run the ball, so we are one dimensional and easy to play against. You have a couple pieces here that will work for the future, your offensive tackles, your WR 1 and 2 are fair but now an injury exposes the total lack of depth at the position. Obviously the same goes for offensive line. Maybe you have an NFL starter at QB with Rattler; time will tell. I can’t put too much blame on Kubiak here.

Defense: Absolutely putrid. Your front 7 is capable of neither pass rush nor stopping the run. Granderson looks like a non-factor. Chase looks like a non-factor. Demario seems out of position frequently. Where are our good players here? Your secondary gets smacked around losing both safeties and your #1/2 CB seems good for a game changing pass interference call each game. They stunk. For the first game I think all season, they stunk.

Coaching: Even the DA apologists want him here for one reason only; he could field good defenses. If he can’t do that, it’s time to go.

I wouldn’t say fire because a few lackluster performances by his defense doesn’t necessarily undo all the years he fielded SuperBowl caliber defenses here.

What it does mean is that we clearly see he isn’t Head Coach Material. I’d offer an honorable step down instead of throwing him off the ledge. He can fix it given time and youthful depth.

This also mean Kubiak wouldn’t have to go elsewhere for his opportunity. Rattler is going to be the future of New Orleans football , keeping a stable quality Coach with him is crucial to his success and development.

If Loomis is really doing what’s best for this organization, this is the right time and thing to do.

Fundamentals were awful, how many times did their players run into a pile of black jerseys only to not be tackled. At one point they said Godwin had 125 yards receiving and 105 of it was YAC. Stupid penalties, dropped passes, fumbles. Just looked like a poorly coached team.

That being said I liked what I saw from Rattler, he wasn’t perfect and looked like a rookie at times. But he also didn’t look like the game was too big for him. Once it slows down I think he could be a good QB…..assuming we keep drafting offensive linemen.
I didn't see Rattler make any panic 40 yard INT's. He has a lot of promise.

What bothers me is the elite players on DA's defense are not playing like elite players. Some due to age, but more worryingly the guys in their prime are getting worse. Adebo is coming off his best season as a pro, is in a contract year, and is playing unbelievably worse than he was last year. What the heck?

We all know the offense is decimated. However outside of Safety injuries, the Saints have all their Cornerbacks healthy, Davis and Gay healthy at Linebacker, the entire Defensive Line is healthy...

589 yards. 44 points (forgot Tampa scored on a fumble return). 31 first downs.

Not even prime Drew Brees is winning that. That is a defense the Saints can't win with, featuring a defensive "guru" Head Coach.

The best time to hit the reset button was before this season started. The next best time is now. And for those who say "we don't want to become the Browns constantly looking for QBs". The SEVENTH different QB started for the Saints today since Brees retired. Guys, we're already there.

The Saints don’t have a front 7. They have a front 6.

IMO DD's issues seemed like the hammy. He just wasn't closing on guys at the edge. He's never taken bad angles, so I think he just doesn't have the burst back yet

I’m actually excited. Think we may get a top 5 pick which I hope we hit on, and I like what the rookie showed. I have a little hope for the future. Really do.
If the Saints get a top 5 pick, there is no way I want DA making that pick. Getting something like that badly wrong or trading it for magic beans can make a team like Carolina.

Good bye DA.-holds no accountability to players or his coaches
Good bye HoneyBadger- was a good welcome home run
Good bye DD-great run father time
Good bye Cam Jordan-great run Father Time
Good bye Marshawn- great run run father time
Goodbye AK-great run, we won’t be able to give you money or a ring.

Rebuild time!!! 🍻

That’s what I was hoping to see to be honest. Thats a good defense we played and he didn’t seem overwhelmed. I also don’t know why they seemed to give up on the bootleg in the second half. He seemed more comfortable rolling out of the pocket.

I get the loyalty, but it's time to bench Cam and DD. Their combined age is 69/70 y/o. This is a young man's game and their age shows every game.

The issues on the DL IMHO could have been fixed had 3 first round picks not been wasted on Marc-Payton Daven-Turner. This was done probably to help DA's defense. The additional mistake of letting Hendrickson walk did not help.
