Do you Love it or Hate it or whatever, Me I'm ready for the hard reset, I think this gets us somewhere between 7-10 to a two game playoff run with no real chance to win a championship. 1 year wipe the books and go

One more choice

It’s whatever, would’ve preferred to cut bait and take the hit this season, but also understand why it happened and what Kellen’s motives are as you can’t come in and immediately try to start tanking, that sets a bad precedent for the culture you want to instill.

As a fan it’s easy to say tear it down and rebuild, as a new coach who wants to instill a winning mentality that’s the last thing you want to do.

I think it was a terrible move, personally. The idea of this new regime starting by doubling down on the same failed approach that we've taken leading up to this point just doesn't make sense. And all for what? Us maybe having a chance at being slightly better than the Tampa Bay Bucs? Is that really the bar now? They've done a nice job at winning some games in a poor division, but they're certainly not building anything sustainable that'll lead to championship runs. I think that's what a lot of fans are disappointed by, the fact that it's such a short sighted move when we really had a chance to truly reset and start building a championship roster.

I am not a Carr hater. I think you can be a really good team with a bottom 15 QB and some of those teams have won Super Bowls. The issue I have is that we have so many needs and so little money and our cap situation FORCES us to hold onto aging players. I wouldn’t have just taken my medicine on cutting Carr and others along with the usual restructures. I’d be planning to trade down to stockpile picks for next year. One great draft in a really good draft year can change the fortunes of a team.

I don’t understand why people don’t see the reasoning here. If we cut Carr, the only way to get under the cap was to restructure EVERYONE else. There would be no room for free agents and you’d be locked into all the aging veterans.

This was a given. He’ll be our QB and should be this year. He can be cut next year and we can take the cap hit with less difficulty.

Now we can build a team with some mid level free agents, can still draft a QB if we want Ann’s be in a better spot for 2026.

Everyone wants to just suck next year for some mythical rookie QB. I don’t want to watch a 2-15 team

I still don't understand the hatred this man is receiving. He may not comes off as the "Cool dude" to a lot of people, he doesn't deserve this. If people think he should of taken a pay cut then people are delusional in the real world. With him staying on the team does not guarantee him the starting job. But he gives us the best chance to win now. Isn't that what everyone wants? A winning team? I am not rooting for this team to lose just to get better draft positions.

I understand it, and I don't hate Carr, but I was holding on to the pipe dream of trading Carr to somewhat ameliorate the cap carnage and imagining Coach Moore finding "his" guy. Just seemed more entertaining...
This I can understand. I am in the camp of what's best for the team long term. But seeing some comment on here and the horrible vile comments on Twitter regarding Carr is just embarrassing to be a fan.

No hate for Carr (the ten billion time), just unimpressed with a mid-tier QB going into his 12th season that has failed with multiple coaches. We're financially tied to a guy with whom we cannot win a Super Bowl or playoff game. This is not speculation; a significant sample size supports that position.

Exactly! Can we move past the hate and just look to support a Saints player?

I feel like the Albert Breer tweet just now sums up how i feel. We are going all in on a weak free agent market... instead of getting right sooner. We are going to over pay for a sub par free agency period.
