How would you feel about drones flying around, checking things out?

The more I think about this though, who am I kidding? There most likely already exists a satellite that is far easier to use than these drones that probably provides greater detail. And we don't see it or hear it.

The google earth that we have access to is pretty crazy. I gotta figure that there's some dudes that work for some three-lettered agency sitting in a room somewhere looking at whatever the hell they want.

Drones would probably be a step backwards in tech.

There's also a large fuel cost with helicopters that prevents them from being all over the place all the time. These things are only getting smaller and cheaper.

I'm not so much 'left' but hell yes, I've got a problem with it.

Where's the idea of privacy when wherever you go, (unless it's inside your IR-shielded panic room at home) you're being watched and recorded?

No, thanks. You got no right to watch me, to record me to even notice me unless I've given you probable cause, Uncle Sam.
 
I'm more concerned about public safety concerns over privacy issues.

Who will be responsible for communicating to ATC on behalf of these things? How visible will they be to pilot's eyes? Will NOTAMs be issued far in advance of planned flights?........ect.

Just more crap to be concerned about while flying.
 
I keep curtains on my kitchen windows, but that's just so the black helicopters can't see my pot plants. Seriously, this wouldn't bother me if the drones' activities were limited to search and rescue or examining a disaster like this. However, the govt always pushes those boundaries or simply ignores them when they want to.

That exactly my point. They were making the point that the drones could fly through your window. Anyone or anything could come through your window, it doesn't mean that's the intent of the technology.

If they come through your window without the proper warrant then destroy it.

I'd probably just think I used the wrong fertilizer and go to bed, albeit a little freaked out.

Come on it's not like this is still the Bush Administration, you can trust our feds and police now...
 
I prefer my war zones and pilotless missiles falling from the skies in foreign lands or barren deserts.. But thanks for asking.
