What is Mcphearson good?

I am so so sorry, I meant Peterson good. I had a brain fart and got my Adrian's confused.

After hearing rumors of interest in McFadden, even though I was against it 100%, on another thread a month or so ago I seriously considered how adding him would affect our offense. I thought back to the type of envious impact Peterson had for Minnesota and wondered if McFadden would have the same kind of LT, twice in a decade kind of special player impact, and how we could use someone like that with Reggie and our mad scientist offensive innovator coach and the possibilities considering McFaddens passing skills and wether or not it all translates. In the end I kind of agree with Mayok and his dead legs theory, but I do not get paid for this or have access to films or even know how to break them down, so it was all pretty much fantasy in my head.

It is irrelevant as to why DRC went to Tennessee St. The fact is he was playing against the likes of SE Missouri Tech School football players and not a school with the talent level of LSU, Michigan, et al.

You're talking about an entirely different level of competition... unless somehow you think Southern could compete against LSU.

Yes, it is true that big fish can swim in small bowls... certainly the likes of Randy Moss, Jahri Evans, etc. are proof of that. However, for every Randy Moss, there are two or three Wilmont Perrys.

I'm just saying it's buyer beware with DRC... there is a tremendous boom that could come from this, but there is also the potential for an even bigger bust... and when one is picking in the top 10 of the draft and the type of money those picks get, the margin of error grows smaller.

If you go back and read my post (with the included quote) again, you'll notice that I wasn't commenting on the level of competition he faced while at Tennessee St. I don't think anyone would argue that it was of an inferior calibre to that of LSU and the like.

Instead I was actually making a point about the talent evaluation process which took place between his High School and Collegiate careers and the rather apocryphal comparison between him and a cousin he hadn't met until this past year.

"it does give you [a] little insight on where people see his talent level compared to ACromartie"

Well actually, no it doesn't. Due to his situation in High School, he would have been beneath the radar of all of the 'big' Colleges.

My point was simply this; yes he attended a 'small' School. That's a knock. Everyone knows that. His numbers were good in College, but it was against poorer opponents. But, as far as I'm concerned (and obviously the guy I've quoted felt the same way, because he brought it up initially) if you are going to knock him for that, you might gain a little perspective by discovering why he went to that institution. I was simply putting forward my belief that it was not because his talent was believed to be inferior.

And that's fine Dart... but now the learning curve for being an NFL caliber corner is that much higher for DRC, compared to other corners who have been playing against other NFL-level talent.

At #10, is his raw talent that much greater than the polished talent of other corners available in the draft? That's the risk one has to decide to take...

I'm not dismissing his talent... I'm just concerned over his post-season hype, especially coming out of the combine.

He was slotted as a lower 1st, top of the second round talent, and now some are projecting him the top 10, based on the Senior Bowl and combine... that really sets off red flags for me.

I tend to go with the more conservative views of him based on his playing at Tennessee St.

McFadden probably isn't going to be as good as Peterson. I don't think so anyway.
