Carr’s a journeyman. He’s not devoted to NOLA the way those other players were. I don’t think he’ll be on the team more than another season, and he probably knows it.

That cuts both ways. The fans really haven’t been great to him either. He’s been booed and insulted on Saints twitter non stop despite not really playing that bad. Maybe part of the reason Carr doesn’t stay is because the city hasn’t really accepted him.

Absolutely, The fans have never embraced him even before he stepped on the field. From the ridiculous insanity of the " Chipotle " hate , to the " he's not involved in the community " farce. That " If you love the city it will love you back " thing works BOTH ways. All the fans have done is hate this guy
I think a lot of Saints fans have Brees Withdrawl Syndrome and have taken that anger out on Carr. It's really not a good look for Saints fans

And I'd be willing to bet that Carr doesn't spend much time on Twitter and likely has no idea what is being said. He also probably wouldn't care if he did know.

And when the city hates you from the get go it's pretty hard to love it 1st

This is a thing? Fans are mad at Carr for not being in New Orleans for a game he’s not even playing in? Really? If you’re mad at about this then you just want to mad at the guy. If the team had asked Carr to be at the game for something/anything and he turned them down you might have reason. Other than that sit down and shut up……

Carr knows he will never actually play in a superbowl so why would he want to be here? The guy has shown since day one what kind of leader he is, why would the fans take kindly to a guy screaming at his Oline and having a tantrum on the sideline, then go out and scream at receivers? Then after all that the Oline tries to cover for you in post game and you still can’t take responsibility.

Who would want to cheer for that kind of guy? If he’s mad he’s not been embraced he brought it solely on himself.

But this isn't going to change anyone mind about him. No matter what, even if he show up, someone going to say something about what he said, how he look, or whatever it is. I don't see every players attending these events. It never once cross my mind who attended or didn't. It isn't a big deal to me.

But it's not a great look when your two back up QBs show up, your former backup, your predecessor, two guys that got signed as street free agents mid-season (MVS and CEH). The entire sports media apparatus is in the city right now and it's an opportunity to do some good PR for himself, the city, and the team. Nobody is saying he's obligated to attend but it would be a smart thing to do to show his face for a minute while the biggest sporting event in the world is being hosted in the city he works in

I think he will be leaving the Saints soon (probably in another year) and is entering journeyman status. He can’t stay healthy and is not the kind of qb who can take the team deep in the playoffs.
