Getting to and Winning a SB is a team effort... But the fact remains that the most common denominator in doing either successfully is an elite QB / Coaching combo... It's pretty evident when you look at the list of every SB winning team... Then look at who was the QB / Coach.... It's like 80% All-Time great QB / Coach combos.... and a handful of outliers. So it's far from irrelevant... It's like 80% the determining factor.

What about drafting Tyjae Spears to back up Kamara?
I've been watching this kid all season. Typically, we have a more physical back to pair with AK41 but Spears is really good.
I'd spend a 4th on him

Daniels has not shown me anything to say he can be a passer in the NFL.

Jayden Daniel’s in LSU’s offense is having an amazing season. He’s ridiculous in the red zone and has only thrown one interception this year. We already run his plays in the form of Taysom Hill’s set of plays. He runs the QB power and the read option as good as anyone. He has good arm talent but will need to put less air on some throws in the NFL.

But I think he fits the Saints offense well, not just the QB power game but also the timing plays.

He’s not projected to go high, he’s not even projected to go in the first 3 rounds, but that could change with more success. Still he’s worth a pick IMO. I would take him in the second round just to make sure we get a QB.

Even if he doesn’t turn out to be a full time starter we have a replacement for Taysom.

All the LSU fans always want us to draft their guys. How would y’all feel about us drafting Daniels?

Needs to improve as a passer more but the potential is there.

He is too indecisive in the pocket, doesn’t have great pocket awareness and is still not consistent with his accuracy….he has a long way to go….but the potential is there…

Also the LSU offensive coaches were morons, they could pretty much run at will against the AR D (who were obviously trying to take Daniels and the passing game out - which they did)…..yet they continue to drop him back and take sacks on what should have been good gains on the ground…..

For my money we need to suck until the year Perkins comes out, NOW that is biggest no miss for a future defense. lol. We do need to find offense somewhere and play calling is one place to start.

Jordan Travis on FSU is better. That’s who I’d want in the 3rd-4th round range since we really don’t have draft capital for QB this year

What is a 3rd rounder @ QB going to do for us next season anyway? Stink up the joint, get you to the point where you're drafting #1 overall in '24? He is the only genius left over from Sean. There is no denying, our fortunes changed for the better, the day he walked into the building. Ireland was brought in to help Sean and Loomis.

Darn sure not DA and PC...they don't have it in them to draft/develop a star QB....it absolutely has to come from the next regime in '24 and I'm all about running it back w/ this same group in '23 to get exactly that.

2023 is already a wash. That is why I want to move on to a new GM now. Let that GM pick the new QB/coach. The new GM can keep DA in 2023 and see who you can get to replace him in 2024 when the cap will be better, and we will have more draft choices. Or replace him. I have no faith in Loomis or DA.
