If we miss out on Daniels, is there another QB to draft in the 1st? (1 Viewer)

We have a QB. His name is Derek “The Muscle” Carr.

DA is not drafting a QB. He and Mickey have made it clear that Carr is their franchise QB. They are not trying to draft someone to replace him.

This mindset is like saying because the big hitter in baseball strikeouts he stops swinging.

If you grade a QB in the first two rounds and you have your shot you take it. There’s no debating it. This is one of the few years that there’s a multitude of QBs that will have a high enough grade. Just about any well ran organization in our exact position would be looking to do so. Unless of course some miracle happens and we were to win enough to really mess up draft position, which isn’t happening.

On top of that, I’d rather take a shot on a star talented QB then another OL or DE from a JUCO college.
Would Pratt from Tulane be a high 2nd rounder ???

I hope the poor attendance of Saints fans over the last two weeks, especially if it continues, is going to be a problem for Gayle Benson, and then for Loomis. Fans as asking for a change and the $5 Stubhub tickets are a bad look for the team. People that buy those tickets aren't spending a fortune at the stadium either.

I think 4 QB's go in the top 10.

New England
NYJ
LV
CHI?
Trade up?

Daniels and Penix will go top 10.

I see Daniels' biggest weakness is on timing routes like curls and comebacks. If teams really value accuracy over playmaking Daniels could fall to the second half of the first round.

Deion Sanders son if he enters the draft from what I saw this year he looks to have all the throws down.... only knock I have is he sits in the pocket too long...

Everything I’m seeing is projected to be a 3rd round pick, but that teams could consider him towards the end of the 2nd.

Still a long way to go and it can change of course

I worry about Penix, so many injuries in his career. Seems like a good kid, solid couple years in college, but 3 season ending injuries.
Let's see how Penix performs in playoffs

Our opinions on this differ. The Browns kept deciding against drafting a QB high for several years and you can make the argument they're still looking.

I feel my point stands.
What?!?!?! Tell me you don't know what you're talking about without saying so.

Cleveland been drafting QBs early damn near every 4-5 years.

Mayfield 2018
Mandrel 2014
Weeden 2012
Quinn 2007

Taking Watson broke the cycle of drafting a QB high, him not working out, then drafting another one once the last guys rookie deal was up.

I hear you, but they are all bunkered in together.

All I’ve done is read about these guys and I don’t watch college football. With that said, I’ve read Penix reads defenses, processes what he sees on the field and gets through his progressions like a seasoned pro. If we can keep a guy like that healthy, that’s the type player I want.
We have a guy like that on the roster. Haener
