Ironman 3 (Extremis) (1 Viewer)

This hits really well on a lot of my problems with the film although its clear on certain things he just wasn't paying attention. (Warning: Mad crazy spoilers in this link. Don't read if you haven't seen the film). Honestly this movie gets worse to me the further I'm removed from seeing it. THe more I think about it the worst is was.

Iron Man 3: 10 Reasons To Hate This Terrible Movie

I'd say I agree with 3 or 4 points here. The Mandarin thing still annoys the heck out of me. But most of these things can be simply explained and justified by saying it's based on COMIC BOOKS. There's supposed to be stupid stuff that doesn't make sense. I mean, Tony Stark has a piece of metal shrapnel near his heart, so in a cave they put in an electromagnet...and then he survived. Like, yea man, crazy, unbelievable stuff happens. The "evil businessman" trope is THE trope of Iron Man. Because he's a "good businessman". Again, that's sorta the point. I will agree that the panic attacks, the kid, and the Pepper on again, off again super hero gig was stupid.

I also agree with the idea of Tony suddenly becoming Captain America outside the suit and the fan fiction like ending with tons of Iron Man suits and just the impact lost from the suits functioning by remote or AI. It's less about the fact that some of it happened and more about how it changes what makes the hero and the character interesting. I actually liked the idea of the panic attacks but it was handled poorly. I would have like the kid if Tony would have had some type of revelation or grew some way from the contact with him. Instead he just treated him like he does everyone else and left.

Yea. I loved the Tony out of the suit stuff. Because lets face it, he BUILT the suits in his garage. Given the proper motivation, why wouldn't he be a McGuyver type character? And I think holding Pepper Hostage is proper motivation. But if all 40 of those suits were just out there hanging out to begin with, why DIDN'T he suit up? I understand all the complaints, I'm just saying, it's a summer popcorn movie, not Citizen Kane.

I just saw it, I liked it. It's not meant to be high-brow theater. It is what it is and did what it was supposed to do.

The final final FINAL scene was cool to see but I did expect a little more. But this movie was no where near as bad as people have said. IM1 was still the best but IMHO IM3 is next and then IM2. ALL of them are behind The Avengers.

They nailed a large amount of it. Especially the mandarin.

This article is spot on. But, I still enjoyed the movie.

Saw IM3 last night and I really enjoyed it. I thought the original Iron Man was fantastic and set the bar very high for all of the future Marvel films, and while 3 was not in that class, it was still a solid film. Much, much better that IM2!

And I actually liked the way they handled The Mandarin...if you aren't going to present him as the magic ring wielding arch villain he is in the comics, then I think just having him as another terrorist blowing things up was not going to work long term.
