No one was actually impressed with Rattler. The people that talk him up base it around the lack of talent around him, not the talent he actually showed on the field. Hope and a dream stuff that Rattler was Joe Montana without a Jerry Rice. Good QBs elevate the people around them. Rattler did nothing of the sort. 4 TDs, 5 INTs, 40 qbr, 70 rating and completed 57% of his passes. He was a 5th round pick, that played exactly like a 5th round pick. He is Jameis without the crab legs and a lower ceiling.
People have made him out to be some kind of cornerstone, based on his statistics in March. The whole thing with Rattler is truly absurd.
You can believe that maybe Rattler, despite what your eyes told you, can be an upper level QB if you surround him with an offense chock full of hall of fame caliber talent. But you certainly shouldnt be impressed enough to not do your homework on a potential franchise QB.
