Is Minnesota For Real? (1 Viewer)

No they might be able to beat those in the NFC but there is probably 4 to 5 AFC teams that put a hurting on them

They have not played anyone. They struggle against good teams. They will be one and done.

Also NFC team will get blown out in super bowl.

i think they can make a run if their games aren't in primetime

NFC Divisional round games are both in primetime, one Saturday Jan 21 at 815 pm, one Sunday Jan 22 at 615 pm.
NFC championship is 630 pm Jan 29.

I think so. Justin Jefferson's purdy good.

I strongly lean no on this one, but I won't rule them out.

It's true luck is part of any championship team, but the Vikings have burned thru an insane amount of luck already. DAL and PHI beat them easily. I think they get shown up in the playoffs a similar way to the 2010 Falcons (another very lucky team in the regular season, albeit not as insanely lucky as MIN this year). But hey, luck's weird and maybe they truly are just having a magical season to end all magical seasons (plus Jefferson is having a mind-blowing year).

I think a championship team needs to prove they can dominate a playoff team, find that other gear against quality opponents like the 2009 Saints did vs. PHI & NE in the regular season and AZ in the playoffs. MIN is a team that needed a double doink missed field goal and a TD drive created almost entirely by terrible officiating calls to beat Dennis Allen & Andy Dalton. That's not a team I trust and I can't say I trust Cousins too much in big moments, either.

It'll be the same Minnesota team as every single year. They make it to the Playoffs and maybe even knockout a good team, and then fall flat on they're face the next game. Boom, season over. Just like the Packers do every year.

When you have a record like that, suddenly all the breaks go your way and your team naturally adapts and grows more confident, and plays a lot more mistake-free brand football.

That inertia works in the opposite direction too, as we all know as Saints fans.

I agree that good/bad football is contagious, also the team has eight game-winning drives this year, so they have the experience of playing under pressure with the confidence from having success in those situations.

That said, their defense isn’t good and seven of their wins were one score victories over teams with losing records. They are 1-2 against current playoff teams, and those two losses were 17 and 37 point losses.

I don’t see them surviving the divisional round.

Yeah, I would say this, and this is something I posted earlier in the week - winning a Super Bowl is very hard, with very difficult odds for anyone. You not only have to have a great team, but you also must be fairly healthy, and you are going to likely run into 4 or 5 games during the season that you will have to luck into winning via a ball bouncing your way, a field goal being made or missed, or a ref making or not making a call. Not only that, but at least one of those 4 or 5 games is going to occur in a playoff setting.

Teams like Minnesota, who seem to thrive in those situations, have just as good of a shot as anyone.
