It appears the Kellen Moore thing is shaky (17 Viewers)

We were one pick and Sean Payton keeping his mouth shut from being exactly that lucky. And we were in position to draft Jackson, Hurts, and Love but passed on each on of them.
Don't make me re-live that moment where Sean Payton was talking to Andy Reid on the golf course about Mahomes. 😭😭

Hey, us Saints fans are big on the “alpha male” thing. If Moore doesn’t establish clear dominance during his first press conference, he is not a leader of men.
Hahaha. I think the above is tongue-in-cheek.

If not, it basically says that Saints fans think leading the Saints as head coach is like trying to rule a federal PMITA penitentiary.

Biggest dodge bullet ever. But that's the microcosm of chasing a veteran franchise QB for instant stability.

I don't think you'll ever see a Drew Brees available ever again.

It's time to do it the hard way and draft a franchise QB. Time to suck.
Man Taker you ain’t lying about that. Geez, I have been thinking about the disaster that could have been. I don’t think people realize that if they think it sucks now you’re exactly right, what if we had actually signed Watson

Yeah I don’t understand the doom and gloom mentality. We see surprise teams in this league pop up virtually every year.

A 5-12, injury-riddled squad who had an undebatable bad head coach and resides in an awful division is just the type of candidate to be that sort of team.

Add pieces at just the right spots, hit a homerun at HC, have a good draft, and suddenly you’re right back in the thick of things.

The margin separating good teams from average or even bad teams is a lot thinner than people realize.

I mean, are we going to contend to be some 15-2 juggernaut anytime soon? Probably not. But we aren’t far away from at least being a factor.
It's hilarious sometimes. Everyone agrees DA was a bad HC , but they don't account for the performance of the players UNDER that bad HC. Automatically it's the players are bad. When their performance is DIRECTLY related to COACHING.

Our whole DL was bad under Grantham, NO ONE really developed under him except maybe Bresse. Who's to say that a good DL coach could not get something out of Foskey and Turner AND get more out of Granderson, Bresse and even Cam.

No matter what anyone says DA is a good DC, BUT he has his faults and blind spots. Other than DBs he was not a good judge of talent. DL and LBs were not strong positions under him. He defenses tended to give up big plays and points at the end of halves and games.

If you think you can make any kind of judgement of the offense other than the 1st few games then you are just full of snap. We had 2 games of a healthy O minus Miller. and look what they did. NO other offense had the extent of injuries that we had, NONE. And just stop with that utter nonsense that " All teams deal with injuries" NO they didn't have the amount that we did on 1 side of the ball.

If we have just a NORMAL amount of injuries then there is a decent chance we win the NFCS. The downside is that we probably keep DA as HC and we all know he had to go.

So all this " We are a bad team" and "we have very little talent" or "We're way too old" is just chicken little nonsense. Olave, Adebo, Taysom will all be back. Yes Mathieu , DD and Cam are on the back side of their careers but they still have enough left in their tank if they are used right.
AK just had the best yr he's had in the last 5 yrs and he was used pretty heavily , he'll be more productive with some help. Taysom will be Taysom.

Every yr a good HC takes a team that their chicken little fans say " Woe is us , we have no talent " and makes them better. Our issue last yr more than ANYTHING else was injuries. If Moore and a better staff come in and we stay just relatively healthy and hit on 2-3 players in the draft we could very well win the division. After that we build on it

I would. Defensively, our front 7 can't stop the run. Our pass defense isn't much better and we may be losing Adebo. 1 of our safety positions are wide open and struggled. Offensively our interior Oline is leaky and often injured. Our WR's are giant question mark due to injuries with Olave and Shaheed. We have no QB that can consistently put the offense on their arm with success, and our biggest star is 30 years old by start of next season which is where RB's typically have a big fall off in performance or are often injured.

We also have this giant, massive injury issue that hasn't been figured out yet.

If I'm being honest, a .500 season is doing good. Of course, that really means nothing. We have several contracts, trades, free agency and draft to go through so things could look very different come May.
Grantham was an awful DL coach he developed NO ONE except maybe Bresse slightly. A better DL coach may very well get more out of Turner and Foskey
Our pass D was a hodgepodge of injured, then traded and made to switch positions mid-season to starting a rookie and all with almost no pass rush
I'll bet you a $20 donation to SR that Adebo is back next yr. . Give Taylor a full TC on the outside and he'll be fine.

While to ignore injury history is foolish to plan on it is absurd. Olave will do everything possible to strengthen the areas of issue . WRs get hurt it's the nature of the position, But we do need an big contested catch X , that what the draft is for.

There are maybe 4-5 QBs in the league that can consistently put the offense on their arm with success. And their teams are not parting with them

Every yr a good HC takes over a team that their chicken little fans ( They call themselves realists) say have no hope and will be bottom dwellers and that HC and staff have them making great progress

But essentially the same Philly team got to the Super Bowl without an elite RB and with the same QB because they have an elite OL and DL.
Yeah all you hear is Barkley, but it's really Barkley running behind probably the best OL in the league for the last 5 yrs. But who needs the " Fat Guys"

The team is one step ahead of ya. 😂

I agree we need to find a way to draft a franchise QB. Easier said than done, fo sho.
