It appears the Kellen Moore thing is shaky (24 Viewers)

I was told there are doubts around his ability to lead. Was told that yesterday morning.

My question is why are you having those doubts as you’re flying to Philly ? Wouldn’t you have had them before then ?

Brady torched them and declined interview , Kingsbury didn’t torch them but declined the opportunity to interview.

There is now a funk on the team and organization that might be hard to shake. The Ownership / Loomis stuff is getting traction ( rightfully so or undeserved it really doesn’t matter at the point ) People are leaving the organization including a guy in the search process. Again right or wrong it looks very bad.

What if ? What if they get up there and Kellen Moore doesn’t exactly clear his schedule what if he takes the interview but on his own time and terms ? If the Saints were to offer Kellen Moore and he needs 24 hours to decide if he wants the job and then declines it would be catastrophic.

I THINK there is some fear to offer him bc he might not take the offer.

His agent is the same as Joe Brady FWIW.

If you couldn’t get your Top 3 guys you hire Rizzi and save face and ‘keep shopping’ during his tenure.

They have not only messed this entire process up badly but they are taking massive reputation hits along the way in NFL circles.

I’m not sure what they’re doing now. I am sure as of 2 days ago they were flying up to lock down Kellen Moore. Something happened. Can’t get a straight answer as to what. But that’s my theory.
Why the funk, don’t they know they have Mike McCarthy available? Or did that go south…

Well the rumors there are that there are disagreements over control, which were mostly dismissed as McCarthy saving face because he knew Moore was getting the job. Which apparently he isn’t?

I think you’re overthinking this. They probably wanted to meet with him despite their concerns (get this) so they can get a good feel one way or the other.

Let’s reason out what control elements Mike McCarty would be lacking in a less than ideal world.

We know Jerry Jones is a control freak. So Mickey is already a step up in that he’ll be able to choose his own staff. What’s next, players? Would Mickey actually veto Mikes decisions on personnel? I even feel confident enough to say that Mickey would pivot to the professionals regarding who is on the team, via draft and free agency. Perhaps Mickey would let Mike know if we can make the numbers work on such and such player. I’d also think that Mike Mc doesn’t want to be an accountant.
So, I’m failing to find a responsibility that Mike wants but couldn’t have under Mickey. Anyone want to narrow this narrative down further?

Woudnt Dave Ziegler be the “search process” decision maker that recently left?

The math ain’t mathing for me on this. You really think someone who isn’t a leader is going to have the pulse and control and lead of an offense that is overloaded with ego’s on that Eagles offense? AJ Brown alone is an egomaniac who’s been watching Barkley get all the attention, touches and media adoration. He’s gone off on the sidelines before for others getting more touches. He also had leadership of Dallas offense while there.

And his success at leading while playing QB. I’m not sure where you’re getting your info, but it’s not adding up.

FWIW, Underhill said in his latest pod that he thinks Rizzi would have wanted a new OC anyway and would not have kept Kubiak.
That begs the question, why? We know that Carr was comfortable in Kubiak's offense as he found it much easier to run than Pete's. Having to have the entire offense learn a new offense each season is usually not an efficient idea. Maybe they plan to move on from Carr, too. Who knows?

He left for a promotion to assistant GM. I don’t understand what the fuss is about that except for people trying to bash the Saints like always.

Saying it’s a bad thing he left when he took a promotion would be like saying a Coordinator leaving for a HC job makes his previous organization look bad.

Gayle needs to restructure the front office. Hire Rizzi and use him as a bridge and let him know this up front unless he wows Ms. B and the fandom. Go from there if all this is true to a degree.
You are kidding right? Moore is the hire.

I wouldn’t be so sure. I wanted Brady the most and settled on Moore as my 2nd pick. But my gut feeling all along has been Rizzi. Loomis absolutely loves continuation. It also wouldn’t surprise me at all if Brees phone rings for a QB coach job if Rizzi gets it. Hell, maybe even straight to OC.

If the Saints hire Rizzi that really tells me something. If Rizzi is your guy you wouldn't have let some coaches get away, especially Kubiak, would you? Surely, Rizzi wouldn't want Kubiak getting away and then having to bring someone in with a new offense, as Kubiak's is the best option for Carr, and for stability on offense. Letting coaches go to other teams was to me a clear indication that the Saints were moving on from Rizzi and possibly the entire current coaching staff. Right now, one would think that if it isn't Moore, it's going to be McCarthy... Edit: ... and just because I said that they will hire either Kafka or Weaver.
