It appears the Kellen Moore thing is shaky (12 Viewers)

That begs the question, why? We know that Carr was comfortable in Kubiak's offense as he found it much easier to run than Pete's. Having to have the entire offense learn a new offense each season is usually not an efficient idea. Maybe they plan to move on from Carr, too. Who knows?

I'm not saying there aren't some good reasons to keep Kubiak, I'm just saying that Nick said that Rizzi wasn't going to keep Kubiak. He released anther article about the coaching search today and he said that Rizzi's plan is to use his contacts to bring in a bunch of experienced assistants by offering them big money while Rizzi takes less than many HCs.

FWIW, he also said that the Moore interview went well and they went there with questions about if Moore was a leader but he thought they would have answered those in the interview.

The dudes addicted. He’s foaming at the mouth and jumps any time he can professionally be involved in football even if it’s just talking. Idk how to explain it. But I know people (and I myself am one) who coach sports and started for their kids and continue long after their kids grow up. It’s like an addictive competitive nature that can only get the fix one way and that’s still competing. And there’s a massive thrill of achievement when the people you’ve been working with achieve a massive milestone and it’s enough to bring even the manliest of men with a stone heart to tears.
Yep, agreed. He may do this and that…but he’ll find his way back to his true passion

If McCarthy was the hire he would’ve been hired already. Hell, he would’ve at the very least been interviewed already.

The team delaying the McCarthy interview tells me he is a fallback option if they can’t get their guy.
doesnt he interview this week? From my understanding he was always getting an in person interview.

Rizzi wouldn't be the worst decision, no matter how it's taken by everyone else.

No one can give you a date for it. The reporting is like, "Saints still plan to interview McCarthy this week." Suspiciously vague stuff, imo, that makes me think they are keeping him as a fallback option.

I appreciate the clarification. You may be right he is the fall back and it seems we have been retreating a lot with this coaching search.

Nah. He’ll never coach in the NFL.

Let’s reason out what control elements Mike McCarty would be lacking in a less than ideal world.

We know Jerry Jones is a control freak. So Mickey is already a step up in that he’ll be able to choose his own staff. What’s next, players? Would Mickey actually veto Mikes decisions on personnel? I even feel confident enough to say that Mickey would pivot to the professionals regarding who is on the team, via draft and free agency. Perhaps Mickey would let Mike know if we can make the numbers work on such and such player. I’d also think that Mike Mc doesn’t want to be an accountant.
So, I’m failing to find a responsibility that Mike wants but couldn’t have under Mickey. Anyone want to narrow this narrative down further?
You pretty much covered everything. I don’t believe the rumors at all. Plus when did these discussions take place?

I'd have to know who is going to be on his staff. If his plan really is a bunch of old coaches, I don't really like that plan. The NFL moves fast, you have to have some young ideas in the building. So, Rizzi would be my last choice, but it is possible that he could do a great job. But, I think it's equally possible that he fails spectacularly.

Just went and read the article. Kafka got the longest excerpt and he confirmed what I saw in the vids of him coaching last years senior bowl.

He had a presence, is detailed, and he said the right things w/ regards to motivation. He’s a leader, and I like his philosophy of attacking on offense.

I listened to another interview and he wants to push the ball downfield. My only question w/ that is would we have the oline to do it. With that being said, big plays = an excited crowd in the dome and I think that philosophy matches what NO fanbase has come to expect from an offense.

Meanwhile, I read somewhere else he’d bring in Don Martindale, who’s scheme is blitz heavy, something we haven’t seen around these parts since 3G but again, something I think would take advantage of the environment in the dome.

Biggest ? Is, can Kafka design a good offense if he calls plays but I don’t worry about if he’s a leader. Bonus that Mahomes spoke highly of him w/ regards to development.

Moore is almost the complete opposite. Scheme/playcalling is great but in one interview I watched his body language is a little closed. Kafka tends to have his shoulders back and chest open, more inviting. However I’ve only watched one Moore interview so I need to research a bit more
