N/S It looks like we traded Lattimore at the right time (Lattimore Out back to back weeks in Washington) (2 Viewers)

we should have tried to trade lattimore in offseason for a first and maybe slight change. his cap was always an issue and he had great value despite a high contract probably needing retooling long term.
they were never going to get a first for him even though that's what I wanted for him. Sneed, Carlton Davis, and Ramsey both were traded for third round picks over the last few years. Sneed was the Chiefs franchise player and they got a third. Tampa threw in 2 6th round picks for a 3rd. That's why Mickey always said the right offer. Most Saints writer was like if they could only get a 3rd then keep him.

Ah, I see a little love in there for Breaux. But alas, he was the "greatest that never was" at that position. No fault of his own, of course.

Also, to answer the Waymer love......I'm a longtime fan dating back to my early '80s childhood. Dave Waymer was in the "adequate" category, along with Johnnie Poe, who played the other side during that era. It was universally understood Waymer played out of position for a long time for whatever reason. He was better suited for safety. Still, you can go back and find old games where both he and Poe scored some sweet picks. It was either feast or famine with those two.

Correct. Saints were exploring a trade all summer and I can guaran-flippin'-tee that they would have traded him for a first or probably even a second. Sometime a team sees what they need as the season goes along and are more willing to give up a little more to push to the playoffs. If the Commanders were 2-6 they wouldn't have traded for Lattimore. We has some leverage because more than one team wanted him for their playoff run.
