Jaxson Dart: I've tried to model my game after Jalen Hurts. (29 Viewers)

I didn’t say that they were ready to start him. I said they believe in Rattler which means they will try to develop him until they think of drafting another QB. If Rattler doesn’t show improvement in two or three years, then they will draft another QB. That’s just my opinion based on their history and recent comments.
Who believes in Rattler? I hope it’s not Moore, maybe Loomis?

I really like Rattler and I think the team likes him too. But, IMO, he's not going to stop them from drafting a QB that they really like or that they think might be better than Rattler.

Agreed…Rattler being on the roster should have no bearing whatsoever on ANY move we make this off-season, including the one we appear set to make with Carr. None.

He can compete with whoever we bring in, and is worth developing, but he is not worth counting on in any capacity, so to speak.

Yes, Haener, Rattler, and other qbs should compete for a roster spot. Let the best man win.

How many decision makers that were with the Saints between Manning and Brees are currently decision makers for the team? As far as QB search strategies, I'm not sure Loomis makes that call. I'd bet that it's on Moore, Nuss, and Ireland to figure that out and on Loomis to try and figure out how to make it happen whether it be trades, contracts, or writing a name on a draft card.
I understand that part. They’ve even had different owners in that time span! There have been many different decision makers, but the fact remains that they haven’t taken a QB in the first or second round since Archie Manning. Loomis has had many chances in the last five or six years dating back to the end of Brees’ career and after he hung them up and he hasn’t pulled the trigger. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

It's not just management that's change. There have been 3 different owners during that time span.

I'm pulling for Nuss to blow up next season, but does he have the supporting cast to make it happen? He's losing 4 of 5 offensive lineman to the draft as well as Lacy and Taylor. I used to have a better handle on who the up-and-comers are or could be from year to year, but the transfer portal messed that up for me. I don't even look at high school recruiting much anymore tbh. (by the time those kids develop they'll be at Oklahoma or TCU or somewhere.

Like I said, I'm pulling for Nuss and I hope I'm wrong, but even if he had the weapons Burrow had, I have a hard time believing he'd be a top 5 pick.
they had the best in the nation portal class this year. 2 starting olinemen, 2 starting Wrs. 2 dominant DE's to suit Bakes 4-2-5. (which we as Saints fans will start to covet sooner than later) Brian Kelly is ALL in on this year. This is why it hurt so much to lose Bo Davis. Especially to a team thats not expecting to reach .500.

Sean was also in a vastly different situation in Denver than he was when he was in New Orleans. Here he had a HoF QB for all but one year. Who knows what he would have done in that situation here.
We know what he did as the first-time head coach in with us. He cleaned house from day one. That's not debatable.
My point was that Sean was walking in with a veteran quarterback on a significant contract in Denver.
He tried Russ for a year and had no problem dumping him when it didn't work. Are you confident Moore will do the same if it doesn't work? I'm concerned it will not be Moore's call.

I'm very confident Moore and Loomis will do the same. In fact, I would bet Loomis is looking at what Sean did in Denver and thinking that's the way to do it.

Unless Carr suddenly becomes a top level QB in Moore's system, which isn't going to happen, he's gone next year. He's here this year for the same reasons Sean kept Wilson in Denver for a year. It didn't make financial sense to cut him in the first year.

Maybe we can convince the Saints to take Brian Kelly instead of Bo Davis? Nah, I could never wish that on the Saints. That's LSU's $100 million cross to bear.

I think this will be the make or break year for Carr regardless. If it’s a situation like Denver, Carr doesn’t set the world on fire, they cut him after the season and with that…eat whatever in dead money and move on. Now, if they win the division…a big if and with that and make the playoffs possibly winning a playoff game but probably not, they bring him back in 2026. I think it will depend on if he can learn and operate within CKMs offense.

In addition, Ole Miss won that game by running the ball through LSU's terrible defense, not because Dart put on an air show. It was only because Daniels is superhuman that LSU was even in that game. Ole Miss was running all over the defense.
But he also threw for almost 400 yards and 4 TDs and ran for 50 and a TD. Not like it was just a running game. I do not see the Saints drafting a QB high in the draft this year. I think they are looking to 2026 if Carr/Rattler does not cut it.

Would rather draft Kyle Mccord on Day3, or just stick w/Rattler, vs taking Dart at any point on Day1 or 2. Dart’s game reminds me too much of Daniel Jones. I think Dart’s athleticism & arm talent are overrated & his stock is being manufactured due to a lack of talent at this years QB position. That being said, id rather have Dart than Milroe. This is an uninspiring QB class, for sure…
