From ESPN Plus

"Young notched 5.5 sacks with the Saints, and his 46 pressures tied for the 11th most in the league. The No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft is still in his prime years and can add depth to a defensive line room.

Fowler's latest: Young is open to a return to New Orleans, where he just played out a one-year deal -- though a different defense could generate more sack opportunities for him. He might opt for stability over last year's prove-it-deal status coming off a serious neck injury."

If he is willing to take a reasonable contract maybe a 2 or 3 year back loaded contract sure. But if I'm the Saints, I'm not signing any big name Free Agents, I will sit out this year and let it be year 1 of clearing up cap space.

We look like a clown organization to be the only team in the league consistently having to move money around every and still can't sign anybody.

Not worth 13M.

I don't really want him back at that number either, but I would take him back on some kind of deal and we have to keep in mind that there are a few void years on his contract so bringing him back would save a good bit of cap space. So there is probably a point where his cost would be a was at least for this year.

Let him walk just like he does it the game...

He doesn't run to sack the opposing QBs ...he walks....smh

Lets cut our losses to get under the salary cap

Because of his void years, singing him to a new contract actually helps us get under the salary cap and letting him go actually puts us further above the salary cap.

He was just ok last year. Took a lot of plays off. I think I’d pass if he’s looking for the same salary as last year.

The biggest positive to re-signing him is reducing his $9 million cap hit for 2025 which comes from 4 void years on his 1 year deal in 2024. Loomis might overpay to get that off the books.

Ok lets get further above the salary cap...please let him walk..... I have seen enough of Chase Young in a Saints uniform.

I do think he takes plays off and he's not great, but it's not like we have many options for Edge guys on this team. I would be fine with bringing him back on a reasonable contract in order to avoid the cap hit from his void years and to set our floor at Edge, but I'd also be okay moving on.

All of this will to some extent depend on what defensive scheme we end up running next year and what our new coaches think of Young.

I really tried giving Chase Young the benefit of the doubt. He takes plays off...wtf

I can't get with that at ALL...I look at Trey Hendrickson and he doesn't takes plays off...and for that alone you can't even mention these two guys in the same sentence 🤔
