With cuts all finalized now, it’ll be interesting to see which players shift numbers.

Most prominently, numbers 0, 10, 15, and 26 are now available. Does Rattler move into one of the first three choices there? Will Rico Payton go for 26, Vince Buck style? Should Khalen Saunders return to a number in the 90s, and will a linebacker snag 50 as a result?

These are the kinds of frivolities I enjoy, even in good times but especially to cut the tension. I also hope someone in local sports media does a “how did you select your jersey number?” article for the final 53.

I really hope Rattler picks a number the single digits
Would look cool on him, yeah, but I think the only ones available as of right now are 0 and 2. Will Harris may keep 5, and all the others are taken (Alontae Taylor, Jake Haener, Derek Carr, Willie Gay, Taysom Hill; 8 & 9 are out of rotation and should just be deemed retired).

Snagging 15 would just add to the Temu Mahomes mystique 😎

Yep. Been hoping he’d pick #2 and get out of that boxy-looking #18.

Of note, he wore #2 in high school.

I actually prefer WRs to have #s in the 80s
I understand we’ve always seen it that way, but the 8 is so… bulky, especially in Varsity Block, which the Saints and roughly a dozen other teams still use for their jersey numbers.

I think if we’d always seen them in the 70s - 7 being much sleeker number than 8 - I’d be advocating for more WRs in the 70s. But we made it the number of offensive tackles, defensive ends, and Simon Fletcher, so it comes off more as a big guys’ number.

You have never been more wrong about anything in your entire life.

Not that I have a strong opinion on the matter. ;)
