Jets hire Aaron Glenn as Head Coach per Josina Anderson (3 Viewers)

So:

Trip and Underhill shouldn't speculated and given their opinions because the Jets hired Glenn. The same Jets that were continually being mentioned as a front-runner with the Saints. They need to just shut up and report things after they occur to be 100% accurate.

The Saints are immediately "settling" or picking from the leftovers because we missed out on Vrable (nobody had a chance against the Pats), Campbell (always considered to be out of our range) and Glenn (a valid consideration for us but a coin-flip between Jets and Saints). So, you're accused of making lazy hire if you don't do due diligence, but when you do a thorough search you're accused of dragging your feet and "settling."

The new coach has to be and offensive coach! The new coach can't have any ties to the Saints - clean slate! The new coach can't be a retread no matter how successful they've been! Definitely can't hire a retread that has won a Super Bowl as they have no chance to win another according to history! The new coach has to be a retread because Loomis doesn't want to take the blame if the coach fails. Existing respected Saints players should not voice their opinions about their existing interim coach - that's our job, damn it! Don't care who the new coach is as long they draft playmakers in the first round and not fat guys (love ya, @Infoman). The new coach can't be over 60 years old as they may keel over on the sidelines at any moment (many of you are going to have a very different perspective of 60 being old when you get there). The new coach has to be a leader of men! The new coach…doesn't stand a chance with this mob no matter who is chosen.

According to a source close to TJ Jones of the State of the Saints podcast, Glenn wanted to choose the Saints but also wanted his own GM. He wanted Mickey to move into a more executive style role and have someone else be slotted in for GM. Obviously all speculation but TJ is not one to put himself out there with rumors so take it FWIW. We’ll see as details unfold.

i dont' get the obsession with "offensive head coach". Give me master motivator head coach with an obsession for detail. I don't care if he is offensive or defensive... in fact it doesn't matter what side of the ball he prefers to coach. That is the one quality the team needs over all else.
They're honestly rare today. Thank Payton.

I would have preferred a defensive minded coach but only Vrabel and Belichick. I do believe our philosophy should be defense but that will inevitably change. Still like Gruden and Tomlin, our next HC will get production out of the old guard defense until enough players are done.
Who clowned this post? Gruden and Tomlin inherited their previous coach's teams and they got production until a certain point.
