Jets hire Aaron Glenn as Head Coach per Josina Anderson (167 Viewers)

So Underhill was wrong when he stated someone close to Glenn had told him he did not prefer the Jets over the Saints. He clearly did all along. Makes me think Underhill is guessing about the whole HC search, just like the rest of us.
Every one of these guys gets it wrong sometimes or gets bad intel from an agent or player or coach or GM and Nick is no exception.

He is generally very good at his job but I do think its a mistake to use him as the default "fact checker" for every post here.

So I like Aaron Glenn , but for the jets this feels like they just rehired Robert Saleh. The “it” guy defensive coordinator with no previous head coaching experience. If I were the jets, for now, I’d hire an established culture builder.

Nick gets info on a platter, in turn he gets used like a puppet to counter intel too. Propaganda wars.

I think this is a good move for AG, the Jets and even the Saints. I like him and wish him the best. I think he'll actually succeed with the NYJets where the others haven't. I just never had a good gut feeling about him returning to NOLA. The Jets just seem like a better fit for him. And I'm glad that rough final game with the Lions didn't deter him from getting a chance as a head coach.

Good, let them learn the hard way that to maintain an organization requires continuity on both sides of the ball. That's easier to do w/ an offensive minded coach because not many DC's get poached to be HC's.

If Glenn builds something, he'll be getting poached just like the Lions did in a couple years. That scheme (Allen's) also needs to be retooled because the way offenses are playing it's susceptible to being gashed a lot.

6 of their last 7 HC's have had defensive backgrounds, all have been fired at some point.

They should check their analytics.

The amount of heat Underhill is getting over this is straight weird. Who cares? I'm sure Glenn's camp didn't want to rule anything out and viewed the Saints as one of his top choices, but the Jets were able to hire his GM choice and they didn't let him out of the building. Really not a big deal.
