Joe Brady withdraws from Saints HC search (50 Viewers)

Plan going forward...

1. Eat Dead Cap
2. Get draft capital and move off Carr
3. Secure the #1 pick next season

Or just waste 3-4 years of being terrible, but slightly below mediocre
That's the plan I want. At least we can see what we have in Spencer Rattler with true WRs to gauge if we can get the #1 pick which is hopefully Arch Manning or another QB and then we usher in a new era ..

Meanwhile Tampa is gonna ride Baker Mayfield into retirement and he will get at least 3 more division crowns while fighting off the travesty of the NFC SOUTH unless Carolina and Can'tlanta become division contenders.

But we gotta get younger and more cap room...it's a pick your poison thing right now. So suck now and be great later..but I want Loomis gone

I like Joe Brady, but this is more about riding Allen’s coattails another year to a bigger payday than it is the Saints.

Our situation would not be a good fit for a young coach, regardless. I think it’s a smart move and it’s why someone like McCarthy is and has clearly been the best option. It’s boring maybe, but his experience and the fact that he would hold more weight with Loomis can help us get turned around much quicker.

Also this is jmo and obviously I could be right or wrong. We shall see.

2 candidates that knew the Saints the best and you couldn’t get either in the building. For those in denial still, good luck.

I was told by a friend that McCarthy is thinking about taking a year off. That’s the reason he hasn’t set any interviews. We’ll see but I’m going put some money on Rizzi right now at +1500
If he does that then there is no redeeming Loomis. Payton said that, Glenn and Brady both passed with Brady preferring to be a coordinator for another year and then McCarthy uses Payton's excuse? And at 61? That's not taking a year off, that's retirement age lol.

Brady is 35 years old. He can put up three or four more years of skins on the wall and still be the wunderkind.

Coming to New Orleans could have a huge upside for a guy like Brady. You turn it around here, you're a legend. But -- to be frank -- the chances that it wouldn't work out with the Saints are high enough that he just doesn't need to roll the dice right now. Imagine being 37 or 38 and washing out as an NFL head coach. Josh McDaniels did that and had to wait 12 more years for his next opportunity.

Or be could be Bobby Slowik next year….

If McCarthy refuses an interview, then I’ll join the gloom-and-doomers. Some of the refusal for interviews is attributable to the well known assumption that McCarthy is the team’s choice. It’s like the situation in NE with Vrabel and the Jets with Glenn.
McCarthy wouldn't be a bad choice. He had winning records with Dallas. I just wanted someone under 40

If we do get McCarthy, as bad a look as it is, Glenn and Brady may have done the Saints a favor by turning them down. I'm not sure either was ready to rebuild this team, but I would have liked to have seen Brady take a shot at it. But, I can see why he would rather wait for an easier job with a better QB situation since if you fail at your first HC job, it's hard to get another shot.

If we can’t fire Loomis can we at least fire Ireland? I haven’t really been impressed with him the past couple of years
