Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff (158 Viewers)

I would say it was done AS this was coming out. Within hours. I'm sure it was timed to coincide with Super Bowl week for impact.

Underhill pointed out that Moore is likely going to be questioned about this a ton by the media this week and that it's not really fair to him being that he hasn't even been hired yet and has nothing to do with it. If this thing grows legs over the course of the week with questions about the stability of the ownership and top executives, he may not see this as the opportunity he once did. Nobody would.

It's probably part of why Roger recently shut the story down and said the NFL is not interested, will not investigate, and is sure the Saints are just in a supportive role. Roger wants nothing to make Super Bowl week messy so NFL PR, which is clearly much better than the Saints PR team, is going to lock this story down.

Hopefully todays news regarding the team isn’t that setback Schefter was talking about
It certainly isn't the closing impression anybody wanted Moore to get. A lot is riding on this hire. All we can do is cross our fingers that he sees it as the non-football side of the organizations issue to deal with. And here we thought Loomis was the problem at the executive level. He's now the most upstanding one we have.

I had to laugh out loud when they showed the Saints using one of Moore’s concepts at the 6:35 mark with Pete Carmichael and Andy Dalton.
We've come full circle. I'm warming up to Moore the more I digest on him. Former coaches son, probably doesn't present as a leader in public, but probably a hell of a leader behind closed doors. Etc

He certainly did, but he also said it was a matter for the FBI and local law enforcement. That doesn't sound good either. And not something your prospective new head coach wants to hear at Super Bowl media day.

I think he’s referring to the criminal aspect of it all being a FBI/law enforcement matter, not the Saints PR part of it.

He finds no issue with the team lending a hand to the church in a crisis management support role and feels like nothing wrong is happening, and he obviously has a lot more data than the public does to form that conclusion.

It's definitely not good. But I'm not sure what law enforcement has to do with this. There are lots of morally repugnant things going on, but I haven't see anything that would indicate anything illegal went on.

That is maybe outside of someone violating a Court Order keeping the emails under seal by leaking them. But, unless someone stole the emails and/or hacked where they were stored, even that is really a matter of contempt of court. And that has nothing to do with the Saints or the Saints front office.

I'm guessing he's washing his hands of the questions as a church legal matter that has nothing to do with him. He definitely doesn't want it tarnishing Super Bowl week.
