Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff (161 Viewers)

Didn't know his brother was the OC at Missouri.
We are definitely drafting Jeanty if he is there....and at this point...id accept it. Bump it. At least the 2nd coming of Deuce and Reggie; AK41 and Mark Ingram will be nice to swann song AK

Looks like the media is going to tarnish Kellen Moore if he takes the job. Hell, this is already a preemptive strike at him as he will be engaged in damage control as soon as he takes the reins if hired.
I get the feeling the media has already moved on.
ESPN/FS1 never even did a full TV segment on it.

Which media outlet? Local N.O. media won’t put that kind of pressure on Kellen Moore. I don’t think the national media will ask Kellen Moore more than once during Super Bowl media week. Not sure it would be any kind of grilling beyond making sure a question on it is asked. Maybe Philly media will put out articles about Kellen going to an org with those allegations after he leaves because of possible sour grapes. But I’m sure they’ll be more grateful for him leading their offense to the Super Bowl, and a possible Super Bowl win, in his first year with them.

After Goodell says the league won’t do anything about it, I don’t think it’s a meaningful or productive topic to repeatedly discuss on major sports talk shows at that point. It’s arguing opinions with no outcome to come from it. It possibly declines their audience/ratings and takes away from other sports topics people want to see discussed involving games and roster moves.

It's definitely not good. But I'm not sure what law enforcement has to do with this. There are lots of morally repugnant things going on, but I haven't see anything that would indicate anything illegal went on.

That is maybe outside of someone violating a Court Order keeping the emails under seal by leaking them. But, unless someone stole the emails and/or hacked where they were stored, even that is really a matter of contempt of court. And that has nothing to do with the Saints or the Saints front office.
It's a moral issue...but as long as it not a legality issue, it's nothing until it's something.

Gayle and top brass should've told them, this is on y'all...and we will have nothing to do with it.

Still not a good look and quite frankly I'm disgusted at it all.

Yep. This story got more attention than normal because of Super Bowl week, but at the same point all the Super Bowl stories will end up burying this story quickly on a national level.

Something interesting from Moore’s PC yesterday. He’s VERY close with the Manning family🤔

Other notes:
He’s the type of leader that is just genuine. He says as long as you’re genuine with guys they will respect you.

He knows the type of defense he wants and it’s the defense that gives him the most struggles as a play caller. He won’t reveal what that is, but I think someone said something about him struggling against 3-4’s before.

Wants to be a physical team that plays with tempo and stresses the defense through shifts and tempo.

He stays up late at night watching film, from High School on up. If he sees something from a high school game he thinks could work he uses it. This is the mindset of Sean Payton

He's spoken about defenses that he's anticipated causing him trouble. I specifically recall him talking about the Panthers who run a 3-4 defense. On a side note, he's mentioned specifically about how they have so many different ways to get after the QB. This key. More below.

Wants to be a physical team that plays with tempo and stresses the defense through shifts and tempo.

This is shifts, hot routes and audibles. This requires an intelligent QB. Based on what we've seen from Rattler and Carr, and I don't think either one of them can operate his offense in this manner. Both are dog water at pre-snap reads and once the shift begins you can't audible. Carr especially. He's arrogant in the sense that he knows what the read is, and once snapped he realizes he's wrong. This has appears to be a big reason why he struggles with bad throws at times. Something is wrong in his read and he panics/struggles/makes bad decisions. If you're going to read a defense pre-snap and "know" what you see, you need to be correct or very adaptable if your wrong. Carr is neither. Rattler did not appear any better. When this happened with Brees, he would often give only 1 look elsewhere and if he didn't like it he immediately checked down to Bush/Kamara. This is why a team like the niners always gave Brees such fits. They had really good coverage linebackers that would take away the check down option. This caused a lot of problems always for the Brees/Payton offense.

But the equivalent here defensively is a disguise defense. This ties into above, as its easier to disguise defenses in a 3-4 if you have the correct personal. This causes a lot of problems. Even Brees, Brady and Manning, who are tagged as the smartest QB's in the history of football, would struggle at times against disguise 3-4 defenses like the niners and ravens.

This is super important. This means he's an inventor. Not a copy cat. He's not going to look around the league and try to mimic the Chiefs Andy Reid offense that most teams already have defenses in mind on how to play against to contain/slow down Mahomes. He's going to watch crazy film tape, take some things he sees that he likes, modify it to work in the NFL and conduct it. Exactly what we want.

My high school won state two years in a row now. Theres been rumors that they record tapes for a "professional football guy" and some college programs. I can't help but wonder now if he's watched em.

I live in PA about 2 hours from Philly. It's barely a blip on the radar. I'm aware because I'm a Saints fan who reads SR for Saints news. And I remember some "rumor and innuendo" articles a few years back, so when I hear the most recent news, I just think "okay....I've heard this before....I guess it was true."

I don't want to make light of the situation, but I think it's probably a bigger story for Catholics and for those in NO area. Y'all at ground zero, so it probably sounds really loud to you. Referencing the "rumor and innuendo" articles I've seen before, it seems this leak was purposefully timed to gain maximum exposure....SB week in NO. But I think it will have the opposite effect....I think it's going to get drowned in the SB noise, and the subsequent noise of Saints hiring a HC. JMO....maybe I'm wrong?

I would love to know who he planning on hiring for DC...
Me and my last seconds defense that calls for all LBs and DBs on the field with all 11 dropping into coverage. It would have won Niner game in ‘11, Minny Miracle game and countless blown games in the regular season (see Phily and Falcon games this past season.)

Brandon Staley makes most sense. Not only becuase they were on a staff together but, the failed HC route at DC tends to be a safer pick for 1st time offensive minded coaches. It affords some stability in that they are unlikely to get poached after 2 years of good defense. Conversely the first DC tends to be hit or miss for most, DC will be his most important hire.
