Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff (20 Viewers)

I think we’re making a huge mistake! Rizzi should be the next Saints head coach. The dude is still waiting around. Hire the man. Do the right thing. I don’t want to hear about OC play calling on an ALL PRO roster. This is the same situation as your child hood girlfriend that you know would be there for you, but you instead drop her for the hot popular chick that’s clueless. Rizzi is the guy.

Naw, Rizzi should not be the HC. It's ok to appreciate him, but nothing about him says head coach and nothing he has done has warranted that. Thankfully we do not have to worry about this even being an option.

Rizzi is the one that got away
That's quite possible. But I agree with what some of the others have said, get away from anyone/everyone from the Sean Payton/Dennis Allen coaching staffs. I can see Rizzi finally being a HC and turning that team around and we all on here saying, "the one that got away" or "looks like we hired the wrong guy." And that very well could happen if KM doesn't work out. To me, Rizzi is/was the "settling for" hire at HC.

As much as Loomis doesn't want to admit it, I see it as if we are in rebuild mode, which we have been screaming to do for 3-4 years now.
I'm excited.
He won't say it out loud, but that is what we are doing; I do not believe he thinks the team is as bad as a team that needs to rebuild, which suggests he still believes in some of the players on the team and that more talent needs to be introduced to the current roster.

The actions will speak louder than any words. You just cant actually say "We're rebuilding". Too many factors at play with player's careers, ticket sales, etc that things will be worded in a way that says at the very least we've done what we could to field a competitive team each and every year.

The team having so many needs and a lack of identity can be a good thing for a new HC. Allen was tasked with not effing up the playoff caliber roster we already had and we saw how that went. First time head coach with a blank slate on the roster and a patient ownership group is sounding very promising even if it means a rough year or two.

There's only 1 elle in Kellen. Or maybe, "It's Kellen, 2 e's and 2 l's." What about "it's like Ellen with a K"? Something!

I don't know what we got to do to nip this in the bud now, but dang it, we gotta try something. People spelled Payton wrong all the way up until his "retirement press conference". Can we try to get Kellen right?

The real question is if Kelin's gonna start Derrick Carr or not

Try Mellen.
Mellen. Mellens. 👀

What were we talking about again?

I agree with the posters who say it’s time to bite the bullet and rebuild. It’s not that the cupboard is bare, it’s not; but, the cash outlay in order to keep this team mildly competitive with a 9 or 10 win ceiling just puts us right back where we are all over again except with a just as bad or worse draft position. Hopefully their negotiations with the new head coach involve a longer term contract and a commitment to a long term plan. We need a basic 3 year plan of cleaning up the cap. Next year or the year after we have to draft a first round QB option (which means lose a lot of games this year). There is a way to rebuild and start seeing the fruits of that labor by year 3 but we certainly can’t do that if we just “run it back” with the same aging and under performing team that we have operated with the last 2 seasons.
I actually like Carr as a serviceable mid range QB - but I don’t like him as a 40-50 million dollar quarterback. Not on this team. It worked with everyone healthy for 2 games. Once McCoy went down in game 3 it became apparent that the salary cap had left us with little to no depth behind the front line players. We need to start over, besides having a healthy Carr almost guarantees 6 wins and we cannot build through the draft with a 6 or 7 win team.

The closer the draft gets, the Moore I think Jeanty or one of the top rated WRs will be our first pick, if they are there. He needs playmakers out of this draft. Our identity on offense is close to nothing right now.

I don't think anyone had a problem spelling Shaun Peyton's name. And it's probably harder than Khellenn Mohr. So I don't think it's going to be a problem.
