Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting with Moore again after the SB, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling coaching staff (117 Viewers)

Oof... This is going to be a long 9 days.

Sorry to say but a lot of people on here have been made to look incredibly silly the last couple of months.

Those who incessantly defend Loomis and Carr need to face facts. Both are viewed as a hindrance and just aren’t that good at their jobs. Let’s just hope that Russini is gossiping.

Pretty tired of terms like scuttlebutt and sources and stuff.

Heck even in Ross’s post on X it was said Moore probably has come around to the job.

We are basically where we were 3 days ago.
she literally said he has come around to job. another non sense report that people hear and take what they want from it.

Are you on the Saints payroll? I almost admire your commitment to water carrying at this point. No, she literally did not say that. “May” have come around to the job. Not the same.

The full context is that he may have come around because he is not expected to do much in year one. The Saints are offering coaches a reset year like the Broncos seemed to do for Payton with Wilson.

However, Russini added that there is belief Moore has "come around" on the idea of coaching the Saints since the Saints know they need a year to rebuild the roster and don't expect a coach to come in and have success in Year 1.

If Moore takes the job, then he wants it and wants the challenge, no? And if he didn't realize that we had major challenges at QB, I wouldn't want Moore to get the job anyway. I want a guy that takes the job despite realizing the challenges and not being desperate to have any job, not a guy that takes the job because he doesn't understand the challenges and just wants any HC job.

I'm fine with Kafka if Moore doesn't take it. Not close to my first choice, but he could end up being a good HC given that he appears to have leadership and organization skills. But having to go with Rizzi would be a major blow IMO. Especially since the one real advantage to Rizzi in my mind was that he might have kept the offensive staff which is not really an option now and word is that Rizzi's plan is to bring in a bunch of expensive old coaches for his staff which I am really not a fan of.
Shouldn’t have Moore known the saints have no QB that this so called “scuttlebutt” that these reporters are gossiping about? He’s interviewed now twice.

Even in the same post it’s said he’s probably come around to the job.

This all sounds like gossip and intrigue to me rather than anything concrete.

But it's not really relevant. The Saints have the last opening left. The guys that they have on their list will still be available no matter how long they wait. I'm not going to be bothered one way or the other if he turns it down. Kafka and Weaver are also pretty good options. But one thing we do know for certain, is that DA won't be the HC next year. They will be better.

Like everyone knows we fighting for a top 3 pick next season.

It is telling, though, that Rizzi hasn't taken a job with another team, which I think he would if Moore being the HC was a done deal.

This.

Also potential agent speak to get Gayle B to offer a few more $ mil.

she also said there "was a little scuttlebutt" and a belief he "may have come around" "interview went really well" ... but man, it doesn't take much for some to hear what they want.

Of course he knew. And of course this is just talk among people at the Senior Bowl who would have various agendas that Russini heard.

It also sounds like it was an issue he had coming into the interviews and he ultimately decided that he still would want the job. So, it doesn't really matter anyway.

He's either going to take the job or not and we won't really know anything until after the Super Bowl because they can't even actually offer the job, much less can he accept the job until then. So, until then, it's all really going to be up in the air.

And, while it's not, to use the new popular word, great "optics" for the team, it doesn't matter as long as they end up getting a good coach whether it is Moore or not.
