Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting with Moore again after the SB, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling coaching staff (87 Viewers)

Dude will be 35 at the start of the season coming off major knee surgery. Not saying he won't have a role, but it's time we move on from Taysom being the focal point of our offense. Time to get younger.
The way I look at it Taysom may not even be back. That injury could be the end for him. Hope not but....

If Moore is the guy, then it's time to rally around him. He probably wasn't my first option, but they didn't ask me for some reason. All new coaches have a 50/50 shot. And think about it, most new coaches aren't coming into a good set up. Kinda like the #1 draft pick usually is going to a team that stinks. I want them to take their time and get it right. Got to give the guy some time. Everyone was wanting Johnson, but whose to say he will pan out. Just have to wait and see.
I'm actually kind of hoping Johnson flames out. I don't like his look at me attitude.

Likewise.

This whole thing started because I made a simple post, not even in response to you, pointing out the tea leaves, pointing out that this is every first time HC’s dream, that also typically money is a factor with these things, and that the radio silence from the Saints and past league history seems to mean Moore is the guy.

Nothing is “made up” there. It was just me pointing out known things, indicating it was my belief based on my own judgement and seemingly much of the media’s judgement.

You responded with the same thing you’ve been doing all day, pointing out facts as to why that isn’t so obvious to you, and I responded back that we get it, to relax, with a friendly laughing emoji.

You in turn went off on me about “Making stuff up,” “avoiding discussing objective facts,” “You don't hesitate to let people know when you disagree with them, blah blah blah,” etc etc.

All this extra stuff is completely unnecessary. I don’t understand why there was conflict here from the start.
Maybe you.guys could wait until after school and settle this....lol

Maybe just the opposite. Maybe Loomis likes the idea of keeping Carr 1 more season and then post-June 1 cut for cap reasons. We can pay Carr 30M more to play this season or save 8.5M by cutting him, but then max restructure everyone else. Fans should accept there is no QB on this roster or FA we can add that will win a playoff game in 2025.

Carr will win enough games to keep you drafting 12-20 unless he gets hurt. He's the new "Dalton line" QB....just good enough to keep competitors at bay but will never win a playoff game.
I started looking at the numbers again, if we can’t trade Carr it would be best to cut him with a June 1 designation, maybe even over trading him.

Move whatever money around we need to to get under the cap, use the 30 million gained in cap space in June to fill out the roster and sign draft picks. In 2026 that would give us around 106 million in cap space to play with once you drop Carr’s 61 million cap hit down to the 28 million in dead money. Use 2025 as a reset year, build the lines or whatever, in 2026 draft get your QB

Carr is a decent qb. He just may not be the guy 3 years from now. Best chance to get to playoffs now? Carr…

If we had a playoff roster, sure. We aren't close though. If he had an elite roster, yes he is capable. But we don't.
