Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting with Moore again after the SB, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling coaching staff (113 Viewers)

If we're talking about the Saints fanbase, Kellen Moore not being sold on our QB room would not only be pleasant, but it would be sweet music to our collective ears. As high as I am on Rattler's potential, and for as well as Carr has played at times, there is no clear "future" at that position on the roster.

I think that's the right way to look at it.

As somebody else said, Carr hasn't been the problem but he's not the solution, either. If he's the stopgap for a new coach, we could do a lot worse, but I'm certainly ready to see competition among some younger players that sets us up for the future. Rattler should be in the mix and I would expect any new coach to want to bring in at least one QB of their own.

Carr being close to that Decline wall at 35 year age for QBs.... He either be too good to help you get you in the best position to acquire his replacement and not be good enough to win you something meaningful.

His ceiling is probably a 2024 Sam Darnold season with the massive post season let down..

I was lucky enough to attend SB 31. Mike Ditka was announced as our next HC. The crowd went wild. We
were really dumb :)
when we hired DA, how long did it take? Because if it didnt take long, then we know that we are waiting for KM.

Translation: "You hear that, Roger? There has been no final decision, and we're waiting until after the Super Bowl to continue discussions. Nothing to see, everything is by the book, please don't penalize us any draft picks!"
They saw what happened to the Falcons last season for trying to be sneaky with Cousins.

This is pretty exciting stuff, not going to lie.

I just got confirmation that Kellen Moore would be a good coach. My neighbor says he'll be an awful head coach worse then Dennis Allen.

This guy somehow pulls off the impressive where he's incorrect more then a broken clock. In fact the only thing I think he nailed was Deshuan Watson being a bad get back when the Saints were trying to get him.

He thought Payton was awful and the Bo Nix pick was the dumbest thing ever, and confirmed his belief that Payton was washed up.
He thought Russell Wilson would be terrible in Pittsburgh
He thought Dennis Allen would be a good coach
He thinks coaching is vastly overrated
He thinks speed is the only skill that matters in the NFL
He believes edge rushers in a 4-3 and 3-4 are 100% interchangeable
And 100 other things that'll make your head explode.

The bad news? He's been stating how he thinks Kamara will be the best RB in fantasy football next year. For clarity, he thought Barkley was dog water in the last draft and made fun of the person who drafted him (himself) and complained all draft how he was stuck with the worst RB1.
Is you're neighbor Al Davis?

Another thought about Moore:

This is the first time since 2006 that either Payton and/or DA will be here. I wonder how much our Draft(and to a lesser extent FA) strategy will be?

I know loomis has a lot of say but he’s also given his coaches a ton of input as well.

I hope for a different approach with Moore(hopefully) and whomever his DC is.

Agreed. Been envying the Eagles’ system from afar for awhile now. Hope he leans in heavy on emulating their program above the other stops he’s been to.

The Eagles have been winning and been a consistent force for quite some time now. The more we can possibly grab from their program, the better.

Sounds like Carr time in New Orleans is done and embracing a full roster reset is happening.

Maybe just the opposite. Maybe Loomis likes the idea of keeping Carr 1 more season and then post-June 1 cut for cap reasons. We can pay Carr 30M more to play this season or save 8.5M by cutting him, but then max restructure everyone else. Fans should accept there is no QB on this roster or FA we can add that will win a playoff game in 2025.

Carr will win enough games to keep you drafting 12-20 unless he gets hurt. He's the new "Dalton line" QB....just good enough to keep competitors at bay but will never win a playoff game.

Yea we’re in for a long rebuilding process. At least they found a guy courageous enough to take it. He proved that he’s got what it takes on offense. The biggest hire will be DC. Rizzi still lingering is interesting, considering he could’ve gone to Chicago or Denver by now… I agree, Rattler and Carr will definitely get good coaching. Or do we trade up or take a Dart or a Howard. Lots of questions.
I really do not want to trade up for those other two QBs. Especially Shadeur.
