Ken Dorsey to the Saints? (2 Viewers)

Actually, he was better last year with Ken Dorsey than he was in 2021 with Daboll. His best season with Daboll was 2020 but last season would be Allen's 2nd best season. His interception rate was a tick higher but he was good last seasib,
Coaching does matter. The problem is......

What games did turnovers lose? The Jets and who else?
They have 2 games where the defense allowed last second scores to win the game and one where the defense couldn't stop the Bengals with 4 minutes left.

One of the biggest changes made from last season to this season is Leslie Frazier is no longer running the defense. They are top 10 in giving up the most yards per play and top 5 in penalties when last season they were bottom 10 in penalties.

I'm not saying that the offense is clicking on all cylinders right now but their defense is responsible for 2 of those loses and never gave the offense a shot at the end against the Bengals.

The question is who is calling the defense for the Bills now?
Fair enough, I stand corrected.

Doesn’t matter who is to blame for the Bills. Typically when there is a talented team playing.500 ball, at this point of the season, many fingers can be pointed. A message was sent by the HC and I can respect that. Puts people on notice
Except that finger should have been pointed while he was looking in the mirror.

That may be true, but at least he’s trying to right his ship. He’s the HC and wanted a head to roll. Sucks it had to be KD, but the NFL is a cut throat business, and you have to make drastic decisions sometimes

What assessment do you use to say he was better in 2022 than he was in 2021?

He had fewer yards in 2022 with Dorsey, Fewer Touchdowns, more turnovers, a lower QBR, and he took more sacks.

How was he better?

Edit, After reviewing the data again, he did have a slightly higher Quarterback Rating in 2022.

Not sure that qualifies as saying he was better last year than in 2021.

You gotta look at things on a "per game" basis because both the Bills and Bengals on had 16 games last season (neither team went back out after the Demar Hamlin situation). The only thing that was better in 2021 was his sack rate.

so he had 7 more yards passing per game, He still turned it over more and got sacked more, significantly more when adjusted for the per game average.

And he was significantly worse in the red zone in 2022 compared to 2021.

If you look at his career trajectory from 2018-2021 he is a player ascending, and compare it to his trajectory from 2022 - now, Dorsey did NOT make him a better QB.

HOWEVER, I totally agree with your assessment that the Defense is as much or more responsible for the Bills disappointments as the Offense (and Allen's proclivity to turn the ball over) but spinning data to imply he was playing better with Dorsey than he was with Daboll is pissing on me and telling me it's raining.

Allen's play under Deboll got Deboll a head coaching job that he apparently wasn't ready for, Allen's play under Dorsey got Dorsey unjustifiably canned.

He turned the ball over more but that didn't affect scoring AND they won 3 more games in 2022. I'll give you red zone. There was a significant drop but everything else? Nah...lol.
And he was a play ascending from 2018-2020. He was statically worse in every area in 2021 and he rebounded in 2022. We want to jump on interceptions but his we also ignore the jump in his TD rate. In 2022, he improved in nearly every QB stat and metric that's out there. Drop in red zone and more sacks (because he was throwing the ball further) but anybody could see that jump from 2021 to 2022. You would be hard pressed to find an area that he didn't improve in. I'm not saying Dorsey made him a better QB but what I am saying is he was better with Dorsey in 2022 than he was with Daboll in 2021, and there is no spinning data. Again, we can look at:

-TD rate
-Yards Per Game
-EPA, CPOE, and EPA+CPOE
-AY/A and ANY/A
-Every other metric you could think of
-3rd place in MVP vote

Guys, this was meant to be a humorous post. There's nothing serious about it other than that I'm happy Dorsey was let go and that The Saints are also in a similar situation.

And click bait? On a forum post with no link? From a member who rarely makes his own topic? 🙄🙄🙄

Chill a bit.

Apparently it is Dorsey fault that they had 12 men on the field Monday for the FG... which lost the game.

It is Dorsey fault that Josh Allen can't tell the difference between his teams colors and the opposition!

Bills fan here.

There is plenty of blame to go around for this year's struggles but the offense should not be sputtering the way it is. Play calling has been an issue this year and last year and most Bills fans were calling for Dorseys head in the same way alot of us Saints fans are ready to move on from Carmicheal.

It's easier to change a coach than to replace a quarterback like Allen.

They may be sputtering, but his tenure ended with his team top 7 in total offense & scoring 26 points per game. If we averaged 26 pts/game, we'd be 7-3 or even 8-2 right now
