Klint Kubiak has a second interview with Seahawks on Jan. 17th [Kubiak is in the driver seat for Seahawks OC job per Mike Garafolo] (2 Viewers)

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If the Saints deny now but move on from him later, that would look terrible. Seattle is putting some pressure on the Saints with this. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints ask him to interview for the HC job here. If Seattle were to offer their OC spot, which is an attractive job, he could lose out on securing it by waiting for the Saints to sort out their HC situation.

For a lateral transfer, no it wouldn't. You don't want to lose good coaches. The Saints could block it if they wanted to. But the problem is that there's no telling what coaches the new HC will want to keep. So, the "nice" thing to do is allow them to look for other options. But the Saints are one of the more player/coach friendly teams in the league. Not all teams would do that.

Isnt Kubiak and company under contract with the Saints? so if there were a lateral move, then ML would have to approve it. If ML approves it, means hes going for an offensive minded coach.

They are but their future is in serious doubt without knowing if the new head coach is going to keep them. You'd really be screwing them over to hold them for a month, then fire them. It's not a lateral move when you don't know if you're going to be here in a month. Odds are they won't.

I was hoping Kubiak would get a year with a (hopefully) healthier roster and better HC. Oh well....it's probably wise for him to move on if he can.

That's bad business. It sounds like Jerry is going to extend McCarthy. Imagine holding up Kubiak for a month and then our new coach not wanting him. He misses out on all of the OC jobs. How many assistant coaches are going to want to come here then? Won't happen. Kubiak probably ends up somewhere else by the end of the month.
That was a purely tongue in cheek remark. I have a strong feeling Kubiak will remain as OC under Aaron Glenn and likely already been told that’s the way this whole thing appears headed.

You think we’ve already picked a coach and all of the other interviews are just for show?

No, just a “gut hunch” … but I think they are leaning toward Glenn and if he ends up being the pick that there’s a good chance he would retain Kubiak (probably at Loomis’ suggestion as a OC choice). The one thing I would love to know is Kubiak’s feelings about staying in NOLA with the Saints organization and grooming Spencer for the future. (I really do like Haener, too, but it’s another “gut hunch” they the front office agrees with me in that Rattler has a much higher potential future playing behind (or alongside) Carr one more season to help lessen Cap impact. I also love to know Kubiak’s feelings about Carr, who I believe has been unfairly maligned but likely isn’t in the longterm future. … I don’t think any Saints HC has been made yet and that they do want to cast a wide net for due dilligence. But I also do think Glenn is a significant frontrunner unless he’s crazy enough to go coach the Jets under the watchful eyes of the owner’s son.

Unless seattle is willing to make him OC/Asst HC, they shouldn't even ask. It should be considered a form of tampering.

I believe Loomis gave the coaches permission to seek a lateral transfer because of the uncertainty of who the new HC will want. But if a team makes KK an offer, I believe the Saints can still block that unless they add Assistant HC to the title.

Because those teams are smart enough to realize the problem was our lack of offensive talent not our OC.
Or the fact that we had the most injured offense in the last 15 yrs . And when were healthy in the 1st 2 games even with not a great deal of talent our O was elite
