Nice, nice! I need to get a set or 2 for my wife, although what usually ends up happening is she gets frustrated with those small pieces for the flower/plant sets and says "here, you do it" which means more Lego building fun for me, lol.

I really want that ship in a bottle set. I'll get it sooner or later.

the one i ended up building is a knock off from aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256...t_main.31.34da1802HznWWh&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

i have the original in a box, which i misplaced and recently found in my house lol

I'm a bit of a Lego snob, lol. I can't do the knockoff stuff. But I have no issues with others doing it.
yeah, if it wasn't for my office at work, i wouldn't. surprisingly, the quality is excellent. maybe 2 pieces i struggled with fitting, but other than, good.

finished the lego insect collection. trying to decide on typewriter or globe next. i might buy the fox and do that next though.

who is bored and wants to figure out the parts list for this video? i'd like to build a few of these and a pot haha.

i want to get the harry optter mandrake next. oh and also the poinseta. also there ate really cool knock off lego plants i want to build. the plants and incests are so much fun

Why are these sets so expensive? $900 to build the Titanic?
Legos aren't cheap, but the Titanic is not $900. It's listed as $680 on the Lego site. You can find used sets for maybe half that.

I don't have the Titanic, but it's definitely on my wanted list.

There are cheaper large sets in the $100-$200 range that are very good and a lot of fun to build. Those $500+ sets are great, but unless you have plenty of space and time, I wouldn't buy much in that range.

I'm a collector and a bit of a Lego nut now, so it's something I really enjoy doing and it's worth it to me.

even the knowkcoff is like $200. i do want the real one.

Agreed. I don't mind a knockoff of a cheap set, but the big sets, I want the real deal.

That said, I don't have any knockoffs in my collection so far.
i have 2 or 3 knockoffs completed and so far i've been lucky to have high quality. they are only my office, but i prefer the real deal. plus, the knockoffs tend to scratch easier and can be much stiffer (twss) to snap together.

wish list (non-retired and a fraction of what i want lol):
the office - 21336
poinsettia - 10370
succulents - 10309
countach - 10337
kingfisher bird - 10331
titanic - 10294
tales of the space age - 21340
tuxedo cat - 21349
baby yoda - 75318 (retired but easy to find)
chewbacca - 75371
r2-d2 - 75308
c-3po - 75398

knockoffs (well "moc" since not affiliated with any lego sets):
dragon dracunculus
fairy lily bouquet
facehugger
thing
honeybee, butterfly, dragonfly
dogmatix
beetlejuice snake
random lightsabers

Nice wish list. I definitely want to get the Chewie, 3PO, R2-D2 sets together. That would be a great trio to display.

The Office looks like a fun set. The Simpsons and SpongeBob would be a couple of TV themes I'd like to get, but those sets are retired.

My white whale is the UCS Death Star 75159. But at over $1k for a new sealed in box...ouch. I'll more than likely look for a used complete set in the $700 range if/when I feel ready to pull the trigger.
