Lets talk Williams (1 Viewer)

The offensive line did a terrible job pass blocking, what makes you think they did a good job run blocking against an impressive run defense?

No, they were bad. The Titans D Line is really good but our left side was atrocious. Penning looks scared to make a mistake and Hearst looked weak. Hopefully they figure something out.

Is Peat injured yet?

Williams is a nice addition in terms of leadership, experience, hard nosed running, pass blocking, etc. In spite of scoring 17 rushing TD's last year, the Lions were happy to let him go and sign Montgomery. Williams was in the right place at the right time last year. He's not the back a lot of people think he is. The stats were misleading.

Our OL woes certainly didn't help, but he's an average back that brings a lot of valuable intangibles.

I guess it's pretty much my fault I had high expectations, With AK out this was his time to shine, Other then the last play of the game which he fumbled on he showed me nothing no wiggle at all.

Firstly the Titans have the best run defense in all of football

Secondly his sub- par statistics/play had nothing to do with him and everything to do with the OLine.

Those holes were closing up fast. There was absolutely no space to run.

Also not to mention we were very thin at RB. With a DL as good as Tennesees. You typically have to throw several different looks at them.

You gotta have a variation in skill sets to try and get the most out of your runs, and we just couldn't present that due to our limitations.

Lastly I don't know what kind of running back you think Jamaal is but I'll let you in on something.

Jamaal isn't the type of running back that your going to see lead the league in rushing, or break out these 20+ yard runs. That's not what he does well, that's not his job, and that's not what we need him to be.

Jamaal is the guy you put in there to soften the DL up. He's the guy that gets you those tough yards on 3rd and short, or when you go for it on 4th and 1. He's the guy that you put in on the goal line, bc he can score you TD's at high percentage in close yardage situations. He's the guy that works perfect with a back like AK41. He wears them down, so AK can do what he does best. Make huge plays while making people look silly.

Hopefully this clears some stuff up for you

When we signed him, I wasn't really impressed. His highlights suggested that he was a short yardage back with no speed and minimal impact in the passing game. I didn't pay attention to the TC threads or highlights, but watching him in preseason confirmed my thoughts about it. The Oline was bad and Titans has a good run D, but don't expect much out of Williams.
Also Miller looks to be an exact clone of Williams, but I believe Miller has a bit more speed.

Williams is solid, and can catch the ball. But, he isn't a take it to the house kind of back, and like all RBs he needs good blocking.
