List of Saints and their practice status today. (Thursday) (1 Viewer)

What's the rule about announcing the starter? I guess a depth chart has to be provided at some point, but that doesn't mean he has to start whoever he lists as #1, eh? He should definitely announce as the starter the guy who isn't going to start, if that's possible.

I just wanna see Turner 100%

and a D line of Cam, Onyemata, Dav and Turner ( both on same side ).

This should be really fun to see who bull rushes the fastest to the QB
Turner was sent here by an old Voodoo queen as a curse, to torment all the people who dream of Davenport being a star

Are you making stuff up? Everyone looks to be pretty happy about the report.
Let’s not be naive.

There most certainly is an “anyone but Jamies” crowd here, a few of its members are taking a victory lap right now over an injury to the starting QB, gross.

But there’s undeniably also an “anyone but Taysom” group, and they’re currently being very outspoken, with thinly veiled arguments against him. It’s sad.

No matter what the Payton says about who starts, the media will be able to see and report who gets the bulk of the snaps with the 1st team. I highly doubt Payton will try and deceive everyone by giving them equal snaps. Whoever is starting will need to take every snap in practice.

I guess.

I've definitely noticed pot shots at Jameis from certain posters who are now deciding to comment negatively on his play, but were rather silent when he was playing well.

I'm sure some might lump me into the second group, because I think Trevor gives us a better chance to win right now, but I've listed only football reasons.

I like Taysom and I want him healthy, he's extremely important to the team. Even though I want Trevor leading the team, I'm realistic enough to know that the ultimately the difference between the two won't be that noticeable in terms of our overall success this season. Both are a downgrade from Jameis, that's just reality.

This is "almost" outright disgusting. As luck will have it all of our QBs entered the season with question marks. Winston won. I was all aboard with Winston. He performed admirably with very little help at WR. He was injured. If it's Hill now, he's dealing with a concussion that knocked him off the field for 3 weeks AND little help at WR, only slightly better than what Winston had, but also having not practiced at QB for weeks. And you know what? I'd hope he kills it. If it's Siemian, he's been an after thought for months, only getting reps with 3rd and 4th strings. And if he's the guy, I hope has an amazing season too.

Stop with all this damn player cheerleading. Especially if it's to the point where you're "almsot" hoping that reality is our players having a bad game in their first start for the team. What TF is that? For the love of all things Holy and Saints, why can't y'all just support whoever walks out there? We don't have to have these circle **** fights BEFORE they even play.

Not from what reading through all the nonsense debate on who should or shouldn't be starting.

Not just that, but there were a number of posters complaining about Hill taking TDs away from Kamara and Winston, and that there was really no need for Hill anymore since Winston had a big arm. It seems like some didn't even want Hill on the team anymore.

Winston clearly won QB1 with that last preseason game but to say that Taysom is a downgrade from Jameis and "that's just reality" when Jameis was at the bottom of the NFL passing stats in so many categories, especially completion percentage, is a stretch. Also, I think the Saints value Taysom's presence enough in 22 to give him another shot at QB, else he chases his dream with another team.

Start Siemien and use Hill like we've always used him except for more extended stretches at QB. When Siemien is in he'll have an extra weapon in Hill who is probably our second best weapon on offense right now.

I'm aware of his lower completion percentage and struggles in the intermediate and short game, but he was still thriving in a lot of other categories in terms of touchdowns, turnovers, third down and red zone numbers.

I'm not saying it's a huge drop-off, but both guys are downgrades. It's not really a hot take. One was our starter, for good reason, and the other two are backups. It's not a slight against either Trevor or Taysom.

I think that's only partially right. You can be happy about seeing your preferred player get a chance to start without being happy about the starter being injured. Whether or not you like Jameis the QB, Jameis is a very likable guy and it's sad to see it turn out the way it did.

That said, I'm excited to see what we have in whoever starts for the rest of the season because it will go a long way to answering questions regarding the Saints direction next year. And, as long as the defense keeps playing like it is, all we need is for the QB to not screw it up to make a run at the playoffs. I think that fits any of the QBs on the roster.
