List of Saints and their practice status today. (Thursday) (2 Viewers)

Let’s not be naive.

There most certainly is an “anyone but Jamies” crowd here, a few of its members are taking a victory lap right now over an injury to the starting QB, gross.

But there’s undeniably also an “anyone but Taysom” group, and they’re currently being very outspoken, with thinly veiled arguments against him. It’s sad.
People wanting to start the QB they believe to be the best is not sad. It's football. That's the way it always is from grammar school through the Pros.

well if taysom plays like he did last year in 2 games against atlanta its gonna be a good day sunday. i wish on designed runs with him, he would drop back then run a qb draw, atleast it gets the LB's to backpaddle a second, thats all he needs.. or do the fake run then back out to throw, again another second for the cb's to freeze

But the entire offseason and preseason where Taysom was working at QB and splitting starter reps doesn’t count for anything? 🤦‍♂️
Sure, it counts for some, but I think that a) Siemian working full time at QB since offseason and just playing almost a full game 7 days prior counts for more and b) I think Taysom needs one more week because of the severity of the concussion.

I almost wish Siemian would get the start so everyone with the delusion that he’s the answer can see the reality… but I don’t want to see the Saints lose to the Failclowns. I’ve re-watched that Tampa game twice now since Halloween, and the fact is… the Saints got really lucky while Siemian was QB-ing. Yes, he made a few nice throws… but he was not good.
Ok?

Jameis on 3rd down was 32 / 85.......that is not thriving.

I didn't realize those numbers dropped that drastically after the Seattle game. Going into the bye he was 11th in 3rd down %.
Just to reiterate for fairness, that is the teams 3rd down conversion numbers, not Winston's. I couldn't find just Winston's 3rd down conversion numbers. It's possible that Winston's 3rd down conversion percentage was a little bit higher than the entire team's, but it's unlikely it was much better.

This is "almost" outright disgusting. As luck will have it all of our QBs entered the season with question marks. Winston won. I was all aboard with Winston. He performed admirably with very little help at WR. He was injured. If it's Hill now, he's dealing with a concussion that knocked him off the field for 3 weeks AND little help at WR, only slightly better than what Winston had, but also having not practiced at QB for weeks. And you know what? I'd hope he kills it. If it's Siemian, he's been an after thought for months, only getting reps with 3rd and 4th strings. And if he's the guy, I hope has an amazing season too.

Stop with all this damn player cheerleading. Especially if it's to the point where you're "almsot" hoping that reality is our players having a bad game in their first start for the team. What TF is that? For the love of all things Holy and Saints, why can't y'all just support whoever walks out there? We don't have to have these circle **** fights BEFORE they even play.
This times 1000! I'll root for whoever goes out there, Taysom, Siemian, Book or Kamara! Of course I have my opinion on who's more likely to succeed, but I'll trust CSP to assess the talent on the roster and how to use it.

Per Coach Payton the “plan” was always if Winston went down in a game, Siemian would come in to finish the game. Given a week of time to prepare, Taysom would get the nod as the starter. If Taysom can practice and has cleared ConPro then why wouldn’t Coach keep his word?!
In this week's case probably because Hill wasn't a full practice until Thursday.

All I want to know who took the snaps with the first team :)

What's the rule about announcing the starter? I guess a depth chart has to be provided at some point, but that doesn't mean he has to start whoever he lists as #1, eh? He should definitely announce as the starter the guy who isn't going to start, if that's possible.
Does that change the stat line of the one that actually starts? One of them could have a win or loss attached to their record and not even play in the game.

No matter what the Payton says about who starts, the media will be able to see and report who gets the bulk of the snaps with the 1st team. I highly doubt Payton will try and deceive everyone by giving them equal snaps. Whoever is starting will need to take every snap in practice.
Closed practices.
