(long read) Let's talk Jameis Winston's future... while keeping it real. (1 Viewer)

Jah, so if you've been a Saints fan long before JW got here how come you just joined in 2020? THE very same yr JW became a Saint

WTF does that have to do with....anything.....Also what BSJoe said.....in the words of the infamous Rick Astley "Never gonna give you up (Taysom)"!!!!!!

Reading is fundamental, my friend

Points was always there..lol. What's the point of talking about most yards in a season when points win games?

The crazy thing is we almost gave up the barn for someone who had an outlier season and the verdict is still out on Carr depending on what you prefer.

Please tell me the differences.

Imagine saying this while just a few sentences ago talking about winning..lol. We were ready to give up everything for Watson and what he did during a 4-12 season and spent 150m on a QB with a losing record who got benched because he threw 4TDs and 6INTs his last 3 games of the season. That being said, this is where perception is key. You say that "TB realized that" but quoting Bruce Arians:

Since the media never spoonfed anyone any information regarding that season (and I had to go back and look myself), those last 2 games that he is speaking about was against the Texans and Falcons, where both Evans and Godwin was out for the season and he had to go out there with Breshard Perriman as WR1 and a bunch of "others" that you wouldn't be able to name. But the truth is, the only reason Jameis isn't on the Bucs is because Tom Brady fell into their laps. And honestly, if you actually know football, that was a great thing for us. They chose short term gain over long term. Bruce Arians and Carson Palmer both stated that the system is very complex based on the control that the QB actual has, the options built into the routes (and where they occur) and it being a vertical offense.

(everyone talks about what a QB can't do but how many QBs you've seen run a play like this from a 7 step drop. Matter of fact, how many times have you seen any "top" QB play under center and not run play action..lol)

Palmer said the first year is hard but the 2nd season everything clicked. If Jameis threw 5k yards, 33TDs and 30 INTs in the first season of learning a brand new offense that is considered one of the hardest to learn, what in the world do yall think would have happened year 2. Fortunately for us, the Bucs cared more about the short term. Brady pushed Arians upstairs and got BLeft fired and now they are stuck with a defensive minded head coach. lol
NFL brass apparently need to study up on Winston.

Ah yes, bringing up join dates. The fastest way to let everyone know you lost the argument on a forum.

Normally I'd agree... But this fella Literally joined 15 days after JW signed in 2020.... It's all he posts about... Even when the topic is about Ice Cream for instance, he makes it about which flavor JW likes... And he has some of the goofiest mental gymnastics about his man-crush that I have ever encountered.... and he's dead serious about them.

When you really think about it.... He may actually be... Jameis Winston

I mean, we just paid $150 million for a QB with a career losing record, led the 10th lowest scoring offense in the NFL since he has been in the league, falls below nearly ever metric of the player he is replacing, and in his last 3 games was statically worst than the 3 games that supposedly got the predecessor "benched." You tell me what NFL brass study when looking for a QB.

And the funny thing is every excuse that people gives Carr applies to Winston.
-Organization (Raiders and Bucs are 2 of the worst ran organizations in sports)
-Coaches (Both had various coaches and offense changes. Part that people ignore; Carr had better coaching earlier)
-Defenses (Carr's defense gave up 26.4PPG during his time in Oakland. Winston's defense gave up 26)

The problem is, very few are willing to keep that same energy when it comes to evaluation.

You might want to go back and look at my actual posting on here, especially my first 6 months and see what I primarily talked about. I only replied to horrible takes that couldn't be backed up or proven. And usually, I would respond to 1 person and 1 person alone and then everyone else want to jump on board.

Truth be told, we all know that the only reason you are coming with this take is because you have absolutely nothing else to comeback with in this conversation. When I talk Jameis, I only talk football but if you can't get on that level, I usually get little silly stuff like this and that's cool. It just shows your conversation isn't really football related.

Winston is a journeyman at best. Thete are a lot of veterans that can do what he will do.....win 50% if lucky. He can't be a starter and he never will be a starter. He's a backup at best.

I wasn’t a fan of brining in Carr, but he’s here now and I will support him. I didn’t want Winston when he was brought here but hoped for the best but he panned out like I expected. I hope Carr fares better. In a QB desperate league Winston doesn’t get a whiff, this is a fact. I accept that professional evaluators may know more than the stats reveal. Personally Im glad he’s here I think he is better than 50 percent of the backups in the league. But I hope he doesn’t have to start many games.

Yet more people using the "journeyman" term without knowing what it means. Jacoby Brissett is a journeyman.

This is an opinion that I can respect. I had my doubts about Jameis too because I hoped that we could keep Teddy B but knew with Drew staying he was going to get a payday. Then I did my homework on Jameis and realized that everything about him is driven by narrative and perception and that's why when I talk about Jameis, I keep it strictly about football and what happens on the field. It forces them to see that a lot of what they are saying doesn't come from anything that actually happens on the field. That's usually why I get clown faces without engagement.

Carr is wearing the black and gold and I hope that he crushes it but to call him an upgrade would mean that (general) you would have some tangible way of showing this to be the case. All everyone has is tired clichés from Underhill's and Ross' podcast. lol.
"Decision making," "calling protections," "multiple plays," "GWD" and other BS that they throw out there because they honestly don't have anything else. That's why I pulled up the numbers regarding their completion percentages at certain distances and it is also why metrics don't favor Carr. But I'll also rather have a QB that throws 4TDs/2INTs than one that only throws 2TD/1 or 0 INTs, since one actually gives me a better chance of winning.

LOL...I just let that comment ride but I did think to myself "dude has only been on 2 teams." lol

LOL some of you are funny, Jah and I have had some very good fun back n forth debates an I truly admire his knowledge and dedication. If you bothered to look below the surface of my comment you will see that Jah says he's been a Saints fan for a long time now although he joined literally days after JW became a Saint. About 90% of Jah's posts are about , defending, concerning WINSTON. That's either dedication or obsession. I don't know if he's ever mentioned much of anything about the Saints previous 15-20 yrs unless it pertains to JW. It would be stupid of anyone to thing that we all became Saints fans on our join date simply because the Saints were around for decades before this forum or even The Iron Era. But Jah did make a statement that I find rather puzzling
