it didn't, which was such a letdown for me. The only episode I thought was okay was when they went through Shadar Logoth. It was reasonably close to how it happened in the book... I still had some issues with parts of it, but not as bad as the other episodes. Also the actor who played Mat was getting replaced/recast for s2. Which just makes me have more reservations about the whole series

None of the male characters ever matter.
Everyone remains inexplicably clean and well-groomed.
8 episodes in and we still don't know how magic works. (Despite Jordan's detailed descriptions handing it to them on a platter)

The showrunners remain Master strategists.

I don't know how that works, but they must be very confident of their show if that is the case.

I was thinking more along the lines of them doing this in trying to drum up some word of mouth hype, or something. But seems the screening is very limited..

I got an email from Cinemark yesterday inviting me to screen for free this Tuesday. I am a member of there movie club, so I’m guessing that’s the reason for the invite. Sucks though, I’m out of town working.

Laughed out loud at several of the "revelations". The GRRM reference is money.

This is so bizarre. Show dropped yesterday, but I could find it on Amazon. as of 10 PM. All that was available was the trailer. Today, I did a search and can find the show, but it still doesn't seem to exist. I added to watch list, but it doesn't show up. It's not listed on the Amazon originals either.

Anyone else seeing this? It might be just me, but so far it seems like a launch fail.

I came how for lunch today and it’s there for me. Just watched the first 15 minutes and it looks stunning. Can’t wait to get home tonight and finish.
